At a quick guess I would imagine it might be something to do with the immobiliser, but I don't know much about Mk2's tbh so I'll leave it to someone else who does to see what they say. It will also depend on they answer to russ_16v's question though really as I would imagine it coudl also be...
You will definately get a guaranteed 60 mile to £10 from a williams unless something is far wrong, chances are you will get a little more than that tbh. Also they run fine on unleaded, I keep meaning to fill up with optimax once to see if there is a difference but a combination of being a poor...
Pretty much what I was going to say. On a motorway I reckon I get about 90 miles to £10 but around town and everyday I don't see much more than 65 a lot of the time - admitadely thats with a heavy right foot once its warmed up though. I think it does vary a bit from one to the other though as...
It depends on the individual williams tbh. I've got a williams engine in my hybrid and with just an induction kit and exhaust its been rolling roaded at 172 and 174 bhp. Others turn out to be bang on 150bhp (standard power) and so are a fair bit slower. The truth is some williams are quicker...
I suppose the main problem will be that due to the fact its the rings that have gone a lot of oil would have been burnt as well which would make the oil level look lower than it was previously meaning there is no way for them to know if it was starved of oil.
When was it last serviced?
Elephant did the same with me and gave me a crap renewal quote. I phoned them up and said I didn't want to renew, at which point they asked me why so I told them they had given me a s**t renewal price which was totally uncompetitive. She then said she would see what she could do and a few...
On here it usually refers to a valver with some form of 2.0 (either williams engine or megane bottom end with valver head usually), but more generally a hybrid is used to refer to any car with an engine other than the original in it.
Why did you put the Ph1 ECU in in the first place? Is the engine tuning over but not firing?
If it is turning over but not firing you need to check for spark and fuel getting into the cylinders as one of them must be missing if it won't start, or your not getting compression.
Really you...
Is it A172 CUP? I doubt it as the spotted was in glasgow and you only have two ** in the blanked bit. Anyway, if it is A172 CUP it belongs to a mate of a mate of mine, lives in Edinburgh, up costorphine way iirc.
In general I would say a williams fairly easily from my experiences. My hybrid (valver with williams engine) does 0-60 in low 6's with only an exhaust, IK kit and chipped and there are many examples of other williams doing the same thing. There will never be a huge amount in it between many of...
I don't know about boring it out but I would guess it wouldn't be cost effective because you can use a 2.0 bottom end from a laguna engine that will go straight on with the 1.8 head. From what I've heard they are meant to be pretty good engines and have quite a bit of torque.
I've done about 3300 iirc in a little under five months with the hybrid. Thats been while I'm off uni though and I cover a lot more miles when I'm at uni.
Have a look HERE its a link ot a local cruise site where the police go on it and answer questions for people and someone asked about driving without a bumper.
Personally I would go with a 2.0 16v from a williams rather than the 1.8 16v as from what I've heard there isn't all that much between the RSi and the 1.8.
No, an electical one. You can run it from a plug in the wall or from the car battery. I got it at the local makros but I know even places like argos have them at times.
I bought an impact wrench for £10 the first time I had to remove the suspension on any of my cars and I've always used it since - works a treat everytime.
You might be surprised at the value the insurance will put on the car. When I sold my old 16v a lorry crashed into it a few weeks after and I heard later that the insurance gave him £1600 for it!!! The b*****d had only paid me £600 for it as it was a shitter anyway, lol.
Unlucky mate, as said above though his insurance WILL pay out for you as although you're own cover is only TPFT that only applies if its your insurance paying out which it won't be as it wasn't your fault. One thing to note is whatever they offer you for the car (presuming that its written off...
I agree you should definately go for a genuine clutch but you don't necessarily have to go to renault, I got a valeo one (the renault clutch is just a valeo one) from a local motor factors a lot cheaper than renault and its the exact same clutch
My guess would be the clutch cable or pedal mechanism. Try and use something directly on the clutch fork at the gearbox end to disengage the clutch and then try putting it in gear.
Do a search as its been covered before. You will need to upgrade the brakes and suspension, probably the radiator and fuel pump as well. For the ECU don't use the 2.0 laguna one unless your putting a 2.0 bottom end on there.
