Ahh right well I'm looking at a 182 plenum for my 172. When you say it can be made to fit quite easily could you explain what's involved. I'm not really in a position to be cutting up the plenum or grinding bits off it so if it's anything that drastic I'll just leave it till a 172 plenum comes up.

Yargh the rad has a nice steady leak so Ash you have PM.:D

From memory you need to get the metal rod thing off, just unclip it. Then its a bit of a wiggle and it'll come off. It's a bit fiddly cos the spring tries to hold it in the wrong position to squeeze it out the hole.

whats a sensible price to pay for a new rad then? Some going for upwards of £60 on fleabay. Seems steep. Also am i right in thinking same rad fits all the 1*2's full fat and cup?
