Mate that is some quick work. I've come up with my own, somewhat crude fix. I just had a pile of tiny white bits of plastic and the majority of the ball which goes in the socket on the part of the inners which is nearest the xenon bulb. As you can't buy the white plastic assembly on its own and...
there should be a circular thing on the stalk which lets you decrease the rate of the intermittentness (not even a word i know). Mines on the shortest gaps and is fine in drizzle although sometimes you do have quite a few spots before it wipes.
ahh i'm in exactly the same boat, mine are smashed to pieces as well so thinking about doing some sort of bodge. I've read on other forums as well as somewhere on here that the way to do it is heat the unit up and thus soften the glue. The one I saw on here mentioned using near boiling water but...
Hard to say without knowing a bit more about the car and the conditions you describe but perhaps new sparks and an oil change, air filter, check the ht leads are ok etc. Bag yourself a Haynes manual and check out the servicing schedule compared to the mileage on your car and see whats likely to...
not sure i'm reading the OP correctly but if the car is at 74k and you've no record of the belts ever being changed then get them done.
If the belts have a while left in them, then as you and 519 say, dephaser pulleys don't 'let go' so you could wait to get the dephaser changed without any real...
Yep all the pipework etc came out. Two main reasons I had it done were cheaper belt changes in future and it wasn't working anyway. Plenty of threads on here about rotating mass, load on the belt, extra bhp etc but those weren't the main concerns for me as I'm not worried about shaving a couple...
Could be or possibly ballast. Mine was doing this and it was down to water ingress due to a lack of rubber cover on the rear of the lamp. Lamp off, starter and bulb out and headlight went in the oven at 70 degrees to dry out and started working perfectly.
Best bet is swap the starter with the...

lol thanks for the spelling help I was a way off :slap:.
Yeah yours was proper badgered wasn't it. Mine was a little less clattery but not far off that. Like you say get the car up to operating temp and its much more noticeable.
Anyway Slater get that vid up we'll see what it sounds like but...
i'm pretty sure I've been spelling tracktor wrong all over the place :o
Yeah it's a little difficult to pick out but once you know the sound you'll not forget it. Tell you what, why don't you get a mate with a camera phone to record your engine idling and gently rev it back and forth between...
rs tuner is always a cheap option, certainly makes the car feel more powerful in the lower revs and more fun to drive. RS tuning seem to have a good rep for tuning as well
oem or the combo you've got are pretty much the recommended options unless you're tracking it or really give it some on the b roads. Obviously there's others but you've got a good set-up for general use. G 172 is a trader on here and does the Brembo discs and pads at good prices. Was £74 for...
this is what it should look like intact http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RENAULT-CLIO-03-05-5DOOR-OFFSIDE-FRONT-WINDOW-REGULATOR-/280724645747?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item415c7e2773
you then bolt the metal runner into the door, the motor has three screws which also bolt in. As in the...
The only issue with the rubber cover being off is that there is nothing stoping damp air (they type we will be getting plenty of now its winter) getting into the casing. Also if you go through a big puddle and loads of sparay etc gets up in the engine bay you could damage something. Best to dry...
the first link is the dephaser, the second one is something far far worse. Bought my car with the dephaser already borked and until a specialist pointed out that while it is French it shouldn't sound quite so much like a traktor I just thought it was normal. Like you say best to get it looked...
If you just jack it up once the oil spots have appeared and have a butchers, you will likely be able to see where its coming from. Probably worth a peer in the front, check its not coming from the oil filter. The big spot is more than likely leakage from the sump plug. And hopefully the little...
exhaust trim, they some up on here in the for sale section from time to time but you need to be a full member (worth it as something will go wrong with your clio at some point and the info, guides and people on here can save you a few quid going to the main dealers etc)
Also try Ebay, google, or...
Jono there's a guy called Mick on here, one of the traders who is in Notts http://www.diamondmotors.co.uk/ and seems to be a bit of a whiz on the old electrics. Dunno how far away you are but probably worth getting in touch with him. Defo worth upgrading to full membership for £12 (guides...
it's something you need ;) my 172 is a different car with one of Henks maps. Great bang for your buck, discount on the maps for CS members and you can pick one up for around a ton in the sales section on here, use it and sell it on.
