PM'd him mate, just waiting for a reply. Can i remove that top nut despite the allen key slot being useless? I.e just keep turning anti-clockwise, or will it muck the shock up? My spring has snapped so i need to change that, and the mount
Drill it out you think? Would removing the strut leg effect the geometry/ tracking of the wheels? In which case i may aswel get a garage to do the work.
I was told there is excessive play in the bearing. THe rubber top piece visable has a part number on it, i am trying to take that off to find the bearing. Or am i being stupid and the whole black rubber piece includes the bearing? :S
I think the damper is OK, i'm waiting for birchdown to get me a part number for a coil spring and a strut top mount. (Birchdown were not the company in question, lol)
Anyone got second hand springs?
Hi Cs
Ok, just got back from travels and trying to get my car road worthy again. The clio had an MOT this morning and failed on the following:
FAIL:
-Offside front (broken) Coil spring (I have standard springs and suspension)
OTHER Advisory Items:
-Offside rear position lamp...
My friend recently aquired the new golf GTD, 170ps. Having drove it i thought it was alot faster than the clio, however when driving home, the clio pulled away easily. A remap to the golf would be a different outcome i would have thought.
If your aftermarket h/u worked with your stalk controls, it would have an interface fitted, therefore the cars loom which connects to the clocks, would have been disconnected and attached to a stalk adapter. If the case, remove the stalk adapter, and connect the spare connector to the empty slot...
Did you have an aftermarket headunit in before? If so, you will need to take the dashboard out and re - connect the display. See this thread: http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?414936-Quick-answer-please-ICE-content-)&highlight=
Whilst on site, i popped over to the materials cabin, where i noticed the main site agent lent on my car, notepad and pen on the roof, alongside a cup of coffee! He got the idea when i placed a toolbox on his BMW's bonnet :D
