i think standard spray paint should be ok as its only plastic so i doubt it gets hot otherwise it would melt. just only paint the top though

if you go with a canon select the 10d, 20d, 30d range as they were semi pro / high amateur cameras to start with rather than budget dslrs (300d, 400d, 450d) they have more features and better build quality as they have magnesium bodies rather than plastic. i have had a 10d for the past 4 years...

if its just that lens have you tried comparing a shot with and without the UV filter, often cheap filters can ruin image quality. Also have look on the web for the noise ninja photoshop pluggin

One consideration is that the bumpstrips are textured and the texture will show through the vinyl. you maybe better of to just sand and paint them to get a better match and smooth finish

yup mk2 sounds about right in 35mm slr cameras the next up from the eos 5 is the eos 3 but for digital that would make it the 3d lol which would sound shite and probably confuse people
