Just having a dabble with a database at the moment and my host has a query limit which is stopping me from restoring the database from an old backup.
Apparently a workround for this is to create 3 users for the database so that the dump program (bigdump) can effectively triple the query limit...
bose is 100% NOT crap! the wave radios are astonishing bits of kit. Have any of you guys actually heard them? I kid you not they sound like a full AV setup all coming out of a tiny box. Awsome.
The Surround setups are good, very good in fact my only issue with them is they they are...
found out you can set the host pc to auto login to get round the problem. I have a tower with no monitor I want to run purely off remote desktop so I'll have to do that one with auto login
I've just finished a tasty build comprising of:
Samsung 42" Plasma (wall mounted)
Harmon Kardon AVR 340 Amp and 5.1 speakers
Advent HTPC for media/internet
Redecorated the lounge at the same time so all cables hidden and HTPC is hard wired to the router. I'm really impressed with it...
yeah I think you have to have a username and password whichever way you do it. Wont allow you to leave password field blank. I've just added a password to the administrator account on the host pc and it works.
Just setting this up at the moment. The host computer at the moment I dont have an administrator password set up on it. Do you have to set up a password in order to connect using the remote computer? On the laptop I'm using to connect to it its asking for a username/password
ta!
well I managed to fix the problem! Narrowed the fault down to the cable by testing the router on the proper made up cable and it was fine. Also made up a small cable and that worked fine. When I looked into it what I'd done was just wire both ends the same but it turns out you have to do it to...
yeah works fine on my laptop with a different cable . Am I right in thinking that the cable from the PC to router is straight through is the colours are the same both ends Thats how I've done my cable
One for the networking gurus again :D
OK I've recently got a PC set up in the lounge for wathcing films etc. I have run a CAT 5 data cable up to my router upstairs. Plugged it in today and the little tray icon says "aquiring network address" but it never connects to the network it just says...
ok so I got a nice new PC for the lounge, all up and running but can I bloomin 'eck get the wireless working!
So far I've done the following
Set workgroup to same as PC and Laptop (currently working fine BTW)
Got MAC address of the wireless adapter on the new pc and added it to the...
What you dont get on that video is an idea of the scale of the drop down you have onto that corner. I s**t myself every time as you only need the tiniest lift or shift of weight to get that result there.
I'm looking to build a PC to use in the lounge purley to play back movies and brose the web. Coupld of possibilities I'm looking at are either just transfering my main PC over into a new case or building one from scratch. Is there anything I need to know with either option? Are the cases a...
Camber plain and simple. One of the things that takes you by surprise at the ring some spots its just trying to spit you into the armco. The tiniest mistake can end up in a tank slapper. Its not that hes a s**t driver partuicularly. Its just that the ring is a really fecking dangerous place...
obviously cant have been on the site long if thats the daftest quote you've ever heard!
When I was under 25 I always had a high excess like £7-800 as it brought the premium down by a couple of hundred quid at least
