I didn't like them when they first got popular and I still don't like them now.
Lovely motor... but black wheels FTL imho.
EDIT - Iceburg FTW, though. People knock it solely because there are a lot of them. But that's mainly because it's a bloody lovely colour that suits the car imho.
That's about 5k in proper money! f**k that!
I have no idea whether or not Australian companies know how to tune cars, but they sure know how to f**king charge! LOL
Yeah, I'm pretty concious of cheap stuff... My experience with electronics/electrics at work has taught me that things are usually cheap for a reason.
But then I'm also unsure that I want to chuck £50+ at a 4 year old PC that I intend to replace sooner rather than later.
I'll try the cheap...
Pretty sure my psu is fubared. 240vac going in and 0vdc coming out, on neither the 3.3, 5, or 12vdc. No obvious signs/smells of burning. If there is an internal fuse I can't see it. Lol
it's a 300w atx fortron/source. FSP300-60gtm. Can't find a direct replacement on tinternet.
What else...
Much better. Had a direct comparison as I bought my missus a 1.4 16v Mk3 to replace her 1.2 16v mk2, and I have a 172.
In all honesty.. the build is hugely better in the Mk3's. It felt better built, with better materials than the MINI tbh.
As for driving experience.... the 1.4 16v mk3 Clio...
Because they're full of fan boys, that's why. No one can detach themselves enough to have a reasoned discussion. Any Apple related thread is the same.
To answer the OP's question, is the MBP pro £400 better?
In my opinion, absolutely not.
I've driven both. I've made my own opinion, thanks.
Is there a difference? Yes. Does it make ph2 cars worse to drive? No.
You never hear about the DBW anywhere but here.
As far as Cups go, there is only 1 tbh.
172 Cup FTW.
182 Cup for... well... I'm not sure tbh. It's just a cheaper version. Loses a few bits and becomes even better value.
The whole 'drive by wire' thing is blown massively out of proportion. Read any review of any ph2 1*2 car and you'll see it's throttle response praised.
Get a remap and this is improved further.
Fred will correct me if I'm wrong, but the majority if major engine failures I've seen on here have been aux belt related. When the come off/break they wrap around the cambelt and cause that to snap/come off. So even if your cambelt is brand new, your old aux belt could still f**k you over!
Yup.. I'd read about the runflats before I bought it, but was conscious that these things are often over-emphasised on forums etc... but they really are that bad lol. I thought the suspension was broke the first time I drove it lol.
I think the design is pretty cool. But in terms of practicality it doesn't actually work all that well imho.
And I'm not convinced on the build quality, either. Maybe the one I bought is an exception, but the dash squeaks and creaks and it's not exactly top grade plastics. The ones without...
Thanks for that mucker. I'll look into it.
Sorry for the hijack Rob - Car looks like a beaut. Great spec too. Not a fan of the wheels or the chicken wire, but the seast look amazing!
Sounds very familiar does that, pal lol.
I'm under the impression that as part of an options package (how f**king confusing are the options?! There's 1 million million of them lol), picking the 17" S lite wheels (thanks Jay!) you got upgraded suspension. It's certainly much firmer than my 172...
Out of interest, Rob, what tyres are you using?
Got the Pirelli runflats on the mrs Cooper (has the 17" minilite replicas and 'sports' suspension - I think!) and the ride is awful. Very hard and crashy, tramlines even on relatively smooth roads. Need to change them next time round but worried...
Ph2 for me. I personally really dislike the looks of the ph1. But beauty is in the eye of the beholder ;)
The ph1 is supposed to have better throttle response (although both ph2 172 and 172 Cup were always praised for their throttle response) but the ph2 isn't bad. You just have to adjust to...
Yup. It might bring on a light on the dash (emissions) as the two lamdas will read the same. Although not in every case.
I had my decat on for 5000 miles and never saw the light come on, but others had it come one straight away. Doesn't affect the running of the car though.
