The 106 GTi and Saxo VTS ARE the same car.
In fact, I had a T reg 106 GTi and my workmate at the time had a T reg VTS.
The only differences between them were:
- Some body panels were different.
- Lights were different.
- Interior is different (but the seats are the same - just a different trim)...
I absolutely hate Siecento's with a passion. They're ugly, slow and completely undesirable in my eyes. That said, I love what he's done with it. Tiny cars with big power always interest me because of the fun factor. Whether it handles well or not wouldn't bother me all that much because no...
That's nasty. Feel sorry for you mate.
At least the truck driver driving off kind of makes him look guilty regardless of whether he was or not. And if you've got witnesses whose statements match up then you can't lose really. Good luck with it.
Do you take ALL your pics near the viaduct in Mansfield? :p
Looks ace, although you haven't done a very good job of getting it dirty. Should see my car at the minute - can't even tell it's meant to be silver!
The turbocharged Clio's don't need an LSD although I suspect they would still benefit hugely from having one.
They can handle the power and put it down on the road just fine most of the time. The limiting factor is the tyres because of how much torque gets thrown at them in one go. Decent tyres...
I think the car in the OP is way too low. It doesn't look right and can't be practical at all. The above pic is more or less spot on IMO, any lower and it'd start looking daft.
I know the turbo on their display engine at Autosport is different to mine. It's a little bit smaller for a start. However, that was demo'ing the LPT kit so I don't know if they're going to continue to supply the unit we have with the HPT kits.
Either way, once mine's running full boost I'm...
Isn't the kit they supply different now though?
When you look at some of the older conversions they don't look anything like mine does. The pipes are bigger, the intercooler looks bigger (though it might not be) and was cut into the bumper and I'm sure the manifolds are a different shape? That's...
Surely you can't go much bigger in the Clio? There's very little clearance between the turbo and the heatshield as it is. Unless the angle the turbo sits at could be changed somehow?
I may well have TBH. It was a three way conversation at the time, and I'm not down with this techie stuff. That's just the way I interpreted it.
We'll see what comes of it, but either way I just want POWAAAAAH... and NOISSSSSSE...
Here's my current RR graph. The boost does drop off a little bit and it does make peak power at about 6.5k rpm. It still pulls well after that though.
Bear in mind that at the moment it's running a similar boost level to the LPT conversions, except because the engine is low comp it's making...
Yes. The boost controller is going to be hooked up to the Omex so that it can be changed while driving. The boost controller is going to be controlling the boost and the ECU will adjust the fueling and ignition accordingly. The plan is to have a couple of "presets" so that it runs less boost in...
Yeah a couple of pics would be good.
And as said, put them on yourself. I'm not skilled when it comes to mechanics, but I fitted my own springs myself and I'd imagine fitting the coilovers is much the same job. Dead easy.
I definitely won't be coming to this now. I've been asked to work all this weekend and 12+ hours at double time is more important to me than a snowboarding lesson / bowling / standing around in a car park. I should be at the next one though :)
You can just plug the iPod into the PC with the USB cable and it should appear as an external hard disk. Open it up, go into the "Apple100" folder (or whatever it's called these days) then you should be able to find the photos in there.
At least that's how I do it on my iPhone when I want to...
Oh yes!
Was discussing it with the K-Tec crew at Autosport on Saturday actually.
Andy can't map my car properly while it's got the standard cat on there because it'll burn it out, so I've been talked into getting a decat. A plus side is that it should free up a couple of extra ponies and will...
The way I got into an IT career was through an apprenticeship with a local manufacturing company. I stuck with that for 4 years before being made redundant and went from earning about 10k a year at 16 to about 16k a year at 20. When I first started out I already had an interest in computers from...
I'll definitely be investing in a set of coilovers soon but could really do with a passenger ride / drive in a couple of cars with different kits fitted to see what I prefer. Not really fussed about how much they cost and I've heard good things about the V2's.
I think they all came with it and some people have just taken it off for whatever reason. Bonnet respray / crash / sound / weight saving (not that it saves much) etc...
