The Clio is a very economical car, considering the performance. I'd say it is one of the reasons to buy it, albeit a lesser reason. Compared to most of the hot hatches of 5 years ago, it's probably one of the most economical. I was very impressed with mine!
I believe some of the newer turbo'd...
I suppose it depends what you want from a car. I could live with it, I think, as I rarely use the back seats. Just chuck in a stereo and that'd do! Has it got harnesses? Couldn't be ersed with them.
No boners or anxiety but he talks nonsense. And it's a forum where you respond to people's comments.
Anyways...182 - great car with similar performance to most hot hatches. Not Rovers.
So here lies the problem - you cannot drive! And to say you got "hammered off a Rover" means nowt. That's like saying, my 200hp Cupra got mullered by a 1982 Lada Riva 1300. Oh, the Lada had a large turbo and a massive tank with something calld 'Nos' on the side, so was pushing 650hp. The Rover...
No issues and it's certainly got a bit more poke at 2000rpm and will pull through to 5k, whereafter the power disappears and it sounds like a broken tractor. Nightmare in the wet though! Might be shat tyres but it's all over the place and can spin up in 4th!
Drove through to Glasgow last...
This twisties theory is bs and should be quashed. Track aside, there are no cars on that list that would 'left' in the twisties, other than a Astra 1.8.
1.8 Astra - why bother?
Your not going to be racing young idiots in Saxo's etc, are you?
There isn't and there is. It depends on the point, as many (probably the majority) people mod their Clio with a remap and/or filter and and get small gains compared to the turbo'd cars - so both are modded cars. Mod both cars for...
Yeah, these arguments can go on but in my experience the standard SC'd Mini was a touch slower than my 172 Cup. The turbo one will be very close but the older version was a bit disappointing in terms of pace I thought, especially at higher speeds. Not enough in it to make a song and dance about...
I hope he doesn't have any issues but statistics say he's very likely to have an accident of some sort, 182 or not. And plenty of sensible drivers have accidents so it's nothing to do with driving like a tool.
I certainly value the experience of owning a Clio, they are great fun, just not that...
Well done for spotting and if he feels a mug, then that's his issue. All I am saying is that it's simply not worth it, imo. With 99% of 18 year olds, it's a statement and a 'trying to get a one up' on your friends.
It just all comes crashing down with the first claim.
Go for it, especially if you are dumb but you can have as much fun in a 1.1. Just because it's a 2.0 litre doesn't make it worth it.
I just find it amusing that people pay these premiums, probably with a massive excess for a car that's worth around £4-5K, maybe not even that.
