Buy a half decent water trap as well as one on your gun, i have a trap/ regulator halfway connected to one airline in my garage, which is approx 4ft from the floor to try minimise the amount of water coming through the gun, i then run my gun off another line from the trap, I've painted a fair...

I bought a set of calipers to refurb for a fair price on the sale section and swapped them over with mine once i'd done, I stuck new pistons and seals on them both. I'm doing my old set at the minute, just waiting till payday to get another seal kit...
Whats sticking? Ive bought a seal kit for a front pair of calipers, fitted them and they are just as good as renault imo only thing i thought were a bit s**t were the bleed nipple caps!
I wouldnt you'l create more work for yourself, if you can feel the damage still sand it out and prime the area, If not scotch it off and paint over the top
