I need my 172 RR'd to confirm but its has definatley changed the way it pulls.

Yep - if you have a search through my blog I have some entries regarding rerouting the CAF, also as Mark said I have had the aircon removed completely with no pump, and cup alternator and bracket installed.
There is no other way of routing such a large diameter CAF other than that I have.
No you dont need it but you might need to cut the OE on down in size [I did]
Plus you will find it tight to get a CAF in the end without it shortened.
I even had the Hillpower bend cut down!
Looks like I need to download a different XP disk then.
The only disks I have with the laptop is the Dell reinstall CD which has XP on it, and the Dell drivers CD.

How do I get to the menu on XP to start a format of the C drive?
To repair from disk I hit F12, selected boot from CD, then followed the repair option on XP.
All fixed now!!!!!!
My IT Helpdesk gave me a call this morning - and actually gave me the Administrator password over the phone.... and that wasnt in safe mode ;)
I then connected to my VPN - then added my laptop to the domain.
Rebooted and logged in with my username!
Job done...
^^^What - format the drive partitioned = C drive then install a fresh copy on it?^^^
Or when you format the disk all partitions get deleted also?
Has anyone got a quick guide or link to do the above?
The laptop is working OK now and I successfully installed IE7. I still cannot have IE...
You may still find it doesnt work.

Regarding my new prolem with IE - I cannot use Internet Explorer on more than 1 x accounts at the same time [switching users]
It stays something about a sharing violation.
I started some Microsoft Updates - which was IE7 on my brand new Dell laptop. I restarted once finished.
It wouldnt boot XP!
Came up with :-
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM [cant remember exact Dir] Has either been removed or corrupted
