I disconnected my connectors and gave the heater moor a nice tap with hammer to unstick it -its now perfect.
You may have a resistor pak gone though.... so rmove the connector and bridge the 2 x black wires with the ignition on. If the fan turns over then...

Yep done safe mode..... Im on win2k on that laptop due to compatibility issue with some of the equipment I connect to on XP.
My work hasnt given me any sw disks - probably due to not allowing us to change anything.

Check your engine mounts, and or CV joints. Check to see if the rubber seal is still intact in the joints.
Is the grinding when you turn in one direction only when acclerating or both?
But also check your bearings by jacking up your car.
Also check the door seals.
My pass side was letting in water, I couldnt see any obvious way of water coming in so I just resealed my door seals and also resealed the windscreen - as dry as a chip now :)
Do you get this on hard acceleration? = maybe engine mounts
Or acceleration on a corner? = CV Joints
Although you say you get this when braking also...
Can you hear a grinding/rubbing/whiring/ noise when rolling slowly - if so then it may be your bearings as Brian says.

Ah the Eagle something or other. I pass there often.
Im normally in my CTR - but I have seen a Black 182 like yours and also see a racing blue 182 most days.
I have removed the aircon [all components inc pump] and replaced with a cup alternator, rail guard, sound deadening, some brackets, etc.
Just need to relocate and buy a race battery.
