Yeah, thats a plan. Or if you need to play it safe, buy a 'disposable' £30 metro from a scrappy and plough it into the side of her car, it'll be worth every penny.
Shes not a very good friend if she can't even admit to it, makes it worse if you know 100% it was the silly bint. Pretend to make...
Saw it at Renault World Series the other year, was in the room with a few F1's, didn't see it go round the track though.
Heres a few pics of it I took on my phone.
At first glance I though it was a Mk3, but when you get closer its actually the Mk2 square shape!
Basically it holds the cams in directly on that engine, and if you remove it, they'll more than likely come out and fcuk your timing.
Without some special tools its a b*****d to sort
Any reason why you'd want a uprated one, just out of interest? You could propably get a cheaper one that that anyway. I'd use a standard one.
I'd leave it if its only done 20k personally.
As Fred says You'll see it on the back axle, there will be a spring that won't be returning properly, get it jacked up, and soak the lot in lubricating oil. Work it loads of times, and keep soaking it. After a while you'll hold it, let it go and it'll work better, if need be give it a clean with...
I'd get the 100 if you can find one - quite rare. You'd be suprised if you think they've got no power, thats a lot of derv bhp in a fairly small car, and enough torque to drag up the Titanic.
Also lower insurance, more BHP, better MPG, lower 0-60 time by .2s ;), looks better, better gains from...
Rhys you need a 10mm on a socket ideally, and a little pick/screwdriver to remove the block plug from the sensor. Basically, remove airbox that sits above the bell housing and the block, you can't miss it, it sits right ontop of the flywheel.
Ignition off, remove airbox etc to gain access...
1.6s aren't that rare really, just the 1.2 16v is so popular it seems to make the others seem fewer and far between.
Tax, well its not as good as a DCI (£35 for a whole year) and they can be good on fuel, you just really have to feather the throttle. If your after fuel economy, 1.5 DCI 65bhp...
Andy do you struggle to get gears now? or is it still okay when you go to select another gear?
Release bearing can make a kind of rasping sound, I've know a few do it, it goes when you let off the throttle, doubtfull but could be it.
Whereabouts are you aswell?
Buy a towing bar with a damper built into it. Best thing I ever did, all my mates, and infact anyone I've ever towed was completely useless.
Basically its not just hook them up and drive, the car behind has to look ahead and break for the car in front, so theres never any slack in the rope, so...
Yes fairly straight forward, call it an hour if your okay, about an hour and half if your learning
You will need ..
8mm Square Sump Spanner
New gearbox plug washer (copper)
New gearbox oil (halfords jobby)
30mm Socket on a breaker bar
All the basic stuff, jack, stands, wheel brace...
Well yeah, compressors in the back of the Trafic, aswell as loads of kit, winch, A frame Dolly, trailer if you need it? Any more?
Don't know why you'd want a 4 Poster unless your doing Mots all day, 2 posters far easier.
