The OE springs make the car look high at the front and are a crashy ride. Eibachs are far more comfortable without the car leaning on corners and the car sits level but does lower it by a few mm's.
If your temp. guage says normal then I would assume the engine is about the right temperature, so it looks like the Rad sensor is faulty and just switching on and off randomly. To test it unplug the wiring plug from the rad sensor and the fan should stop running.
Yes they can stay on for a few mins after switching off when the engine is hot, but 45mins is a long time. Could be other problems which is making the water temperature too hot.
I got quoted for the bottom hose at Toomeys, £123 with vat, so you have a bargain. Only other alternatives are Samcos if you can buy individual hoses, or one from a breakers.
I've now fitted the Prolines, bought secondhand from a CS member, easy job but then the top mount bearings started to grind and judder when turning the steering, strange they didn't do that before, so, off they came again and new OE bearings fitted. Tried some high speed cornering but nothing...
Eibach Prolines. They dont lower the car much 10 -30mm. but are far more comfortable to ride on and stiff enough for a wet or dry track. Stiffer anti roll bar.
Keep what you have and mildly modify, paying most attention to the brakes and suspension. At least you know how the car has been looked after and what needs doing, you could end up with a heap of trouble buying an unknown car. You can have just as much fun on track in a normal road car.
The bonnet bras can damage the paintwork even more than leaving them open to the elements. They flap around in the wind and scratch the paint, also any dirt that does get under the bra, stays there and causes more scratches. I also hate the sight of them.
