it depends on how heavy the car is, Each Clio model is a different weight. so they give a range off lowering between 60mm. for a heavy car and 40mm. for a lighter car.
It's 50% luck and 50% good servicing that keeps a car going well, If you look at the OP's original post he has some really simple fixes to do to make his car right. I think he is bored and just wants something different.
You seem to have covered all the service items well. As for the plenum/inlet gasket, only change it if it is damaged, usually a clean up job is all that is required.
Clio 172's registered new after 1st. Mar are taxed at £235 for 12 months. As for the car it is nearly 10 years old and will always need something doing but hopefully not expensive items. Have a good look around the car as you would any other car to see if it has been looked after. As for the...
Had a look on Ebay and found this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Renault-Sport-Clio-172-182-2-0-Lambda-Oxygen-Sensor-/270616741339?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts SM Any good? And do this company really sell genuine parts?
Drain plug is under the gearbox, 8mm. plug required to undo, same as engine oil sump. Filler is a black or white butterfly nut at front of gearbox abou 1/2 way up and it faces the rad.
As foxy says. The seal around the inlet port is not the answer to your problem but they can leak more oil due to age. I had excess oil in the plenum chamber and it was leaking down the rear of the engine, changing the egg shaped seal has stemmed the amount of oil escaping so it is worth...
It seems a full suspension and steering overhaul is required when you get round to fitting the new springs, paying attention to all the bushes and balljoints. Then have the tracking/alignment done.
As Steve says, don't bother about the weight of the wheels, you are on track to enjoy yourself, not to race. Take a seat out and you've saved 10kilos. and spend the wheel money.
Gummed up injectors tend to ruin the spray pattern of the fuel entering the combustion chamber and can cause uneven ignition, usually an ultrasonic clean is all that is needed. The machine that cleans them also measures the amount of fuel that passes through the injectors and of course they...
N o not big £££££'s, you should be able to diy if you have some tools. Hopefully a friend will assist who's done this job before. Probably best to do both sides at the same time as it's hard to diagnose which side is the culprit. At a guess it will be the nearside bearing as this takes the...
Yes they can be stripped down but I would leave the pistons insitu as it would be easy for muck to enter the caliper and scratch the bore. Get them well masked up to be cleaned and painted.
On high mileage Cups the rear does sag a bit. If driving around with full compliment of passengers it could sag some more and cause arch bubbing. A broken spring mabe your problem if lopsided as you say.
The photos on the website look like front discs but mabe it's just a generic photo, I would phone or email them to find out if ABS rings are already fitted.
Congrats. on getting you Clio. If it has Renault S/H then thats a good buy. If belts do need doing then make sure it's someone who is used to 172 cambelt changes, trusted Reno specialists are listed on the site, there must be one near you. Many happy miles to you.
tapping noise is likely to be the wrong oil not lubing the valve gear and tappets properly or maybe the oil has not been changed for sometime. Get some decent Fully synthetic 5/40 in it.
As for the mystery fluid bottle, the coolant and power steering are under the passenger side of the...
