Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm if i ever get in the position to be able to afford one as a second car i would snap one up i realy realy love these cars.
Umm I raced and beat two mk1 (90bhp) vtrs quite easily and only lost to a mk2 (100bhp) vtr after about 90 only slightly though;). But then again mine isnt standard. i still think an rt would give a 90bhp vtr a run for its money though.
I would try and get hold of some elf 5w40 (Ultima?) full sin. but i cant find any round my way anymore. Mobile 1 is to expensive I used to pick up elf 4 litres i think for £19.95. I think, but not sure, that the cup needs more than 4 litres though?
Mines going pretty well at the moment. Not timed the 0-60 run buts alot better than standard quoted times. The chip helped alot now redlines at 6750:):) o and shoots big flames, like the other day while racing my mates rsi .... not alot in it:o
From what I no about it, put the head and bottom end in etc. But use your inlet manifold and throttle body. This because you would need a lumintion ecu other wise which is £400 on its own then a modified wiring loom etc etc.
Anyway ring hillpower get him to put a 1.8 laguna throttle body on...
I have avos on mine, very good springs. Probably use them on my next car.
They did a spring test some time ago on a 205 gti and the AVOs (Chassis Dynamis) came out tops.
I would go for a decat and hillpower chip my self. Chip is £150 fitted with club discount. With all this fitted you should see 10-12bhp increase on a health engine.
Sorry just seen youve put 1.6 16v engine. Umm well it has been done before some guy on renault tuning com has put a 1.6 16v laguna engine in his.
Should shift a bit with this engine in 110bhp.
It will be better over the rt engine more power and torque(which is the main thing) pluss you use the rt gearbox and drive shafts. The 1.6 8v is an energy like the 1400 so fitting is v.easy. The only problem I see is the fact that its mpi rather the the rts spi.
best bet is to ring Nick at...
