Get an empty spray bottle (like the sort that Windowlene comes in?) and fill that full of water. Spritz it over the car, wipe it off! evens out the coverage of the wax apparently
Meguiars are just trying to sell their products by saying that there are no abrasives in them! lol, oh well.
I could never bring myself to spend that much cash on Zymol! seems too excessive, and I dont think it can be that much better than other stuff out there.
Yeah, I visit Autopia a fair amount, its how I know this stuff, lol.
EGP is good stuff, not sure if it will bond to the Meguiars product though. Its designed as a polymer sealant for the SRP.
You can try it, it wont do any harm - might even make the shine last longer.
Ben:
If you use AutoGlym SRP on top of Stage 2, it will eliminate the Stage 2, because the AutoGlym contains cleaning properties. In effect you will be starting from scratch.
Ive seen cars that have had good results from just using Autoglym SRP (and in some cases the Extra Gloss Protection...
http://www.seriousperformance.co.ukwww.seriousperformance.co.uk should be up and running soon, there will a number of the "weird and wonderful" products from the States on there, available to people in the UK, with free P&P too.
Stage 1 is a paint cleanser and shouldnt be used too often! Its like a deep cleanse that gets rid of the crap on the paint you cant see, I believe this contains some abrasives (mild). You dont need to use this too often. 3 coats is also a bit excessive for this level.
Stage 2 is a polish (much...
you should apply the products with applicator pads (which you should also be able to get from Meguiars.
Stage 1 should only really be used twice a year..
Stage 2 every few months.
Stage 3 can be done as often as you want I believe
Obviously the 1st time you use it, do all 3 stages...
you can make your car look like that easily with any wax that costs a lot less than the Zymol packs! Just check out http://www.autopia.orghttp://www.autopia.org and see for yourself.
I had the service done at Renault! Just the extra bits are going to be done somewhere else.. for less than half the price (I might add..) with Renault parts.
Hmmm.. mine had done over 8 miles when I got it back.. I wonder!
But other than that, their customer service was fantastic.
Im not a local to Sutton Coldfield, I just decided to go for a service there because I noticed they had provided good service to other people on here - thought it...
Took my car in today for its 18k service. They were excellent. Cost less than I expected: 128 quid all in.
Need replacement Rear Wiper Blade, Front Brake Pads (80% worn), handbrake needs resetting, and front tyres are down to 2mm each.
Renault prices:
Wiper blade: 7.50
Handbrake...
If you treat your bumpers and bump strips with Back to Black (or similiar) before you use any wax/polish product, any residue you get on the black trim should then wipe off a lot easier with a damp cloth. Or, just use some masking tape on the black bits. Going to start doing this on my washer...
Paddy,
Check out http://www.iauto.co.uk , and look under the Motorcycle Care section. You should see something called S100 - Paintwork and Plastic Polish. This can be used on plastic headlight lenses. Watch out for the P&P on that site. Its 7 quid no matter what you order I think.
I am going...
Keep us posted on that one Face.
Already in touch with Alex about the products he is stocking! Fantastic news that it is going to become easier for us to get this stuff in the UK.
There was a product review of windscreen wipers in Autoexpress. Check the website should be on there.. the obscure brands seem to do the best over the likes of Bosch!
