Clio mate. Replaced track rod ends and steering arms and it was still doing it.
My next port of call was going to be front shocks and springs. Although there was some wear to the front ARB bushes so I was going to polybush the front ARB and wishbone.
But as you probably guessed I got offered...
It's 'nearly new'
I appreciate its boring but it'll be nice to drive something reliable and cost effective. As said before, I hardly ever get chance to open up the 172 so I don't think ill miss it. Although, I have been driving it like I stole it since I traded it in. Haha
£15 mate. They cost £40 new I just want rid I don't use them. They'll be sent in a box that my replacements came in so they're clipped in and won't get damaged.
I had this on mine when I first bought it. Took door card off to discover two of the three bolts that hold the window framework in place were rolling around the bottom of the door. Re-fastened it and all was good as new.
Gone 207 diesel. £20 a year tax and between 50 and 70mpg. Slow as s**t but I don't drive anywhere I can use the 172 properly anyway so I'm not bothered. I pick it up on Thursday.

Anything is possible if you have enough cash!! I think that would look pretty awesome to be honest! Perhaps if you message one of the carbon fibre guys from the For Sale section they'd be able to give you some advice and feedback on cost etc...
TDC is a good place to start. Your symptoms sound about right, it just sort of struggles and then splutters to a halt? You say the airbag light goes off, does the service light go out as well?
Not sure about the starting issues. May be the TDC sensor, although not sure where this would be located on the 1.2. My 172 started 9 out or 10 times but on the odd occasion would just splutter to a stall. I cleaned the sensor and it sorted it (although it's coming back now so a new one may be...
The Clios that DO NOT come with Xenons from factory are h7 fitment.
However, if your looking to replace bulbs in a car that has factory Xenons then you need D2S bulbs (I happen to have a pair of 8000k D2S bulbs on my shelf at home if you need some )
Just getting ridiculously expensive to run mate. Plus, everytime I think its finally fixed something else breaks... got my self a nice economical oil burner. Lol
