Picked it up from some red-neck in Leicestershire. He even sabotaged the boot lock so he could try and steal it back. Little did he know, that I rigged the engine to cut out if he flashed the full beams in close succession on the part-ex I gave him! Learn him!
Sweet! Lutterworth is about, what, 10 minutes if that!? I rarely go over that way, but seeing as you have a LY I'm sure I'd spot you easily enough if I ever did! lol
Lol, insurance stung me for a surprise £100... no white wheels yet! lol
I've learnt my lesson with Renault, if it ain't broke, don't fix it! There's a few body work dings and scratches that I'd wanna sort before getting white wheels anyway.
Time will tell if I actually bother to sort them! lol
Thanks Jack,
Could ideally do with front and rear bumper re-spray, and a dent taking our of passenger rear quarter. It's been tapped out before but still visible.
Main thing is it's had dephaser, cambelt kit and aux kit done in Jan by a reputable Renault master tech, had all new shocks and...
I'd really have liked a LY or a bean, but they're pretty damn rare! Besides, got this one off someone that I know so I know that it's been treated right. Masses of receipts over the last 12 months, so should see me right!
Thanks guys. I was looking around for a bean but I couldn't find any at the time. Besides, I know this car has been looked after exceptionally well! :)
Hey guys,
Been a while since I've been massively active on the forum, but that's about to change hopefully!
I used to own a 172 'berg, which I got rid of a couple of years ago. Since then I've had a 207 HDi, a Ph1 1.2 (which died a smokey death in a lay-by on the A47 due to a failed head...
Nightmare isn't it?! lol
Clutch isn't so bad yet, but I'd rather have nipped it in the bud. If it does turn out to need a head gasket too, I'll probably just drive it to death and not fix either.
Hi,
Thanks for the reply. The oil cap is a little gunky, but it's a brown gunk rather than white. Also appears to be no residue in coolant reservoir. No black/blue smoke, occasional white smoke (primarily when cold, but not always).
The issue I have with doing work my self is that I need my...
Hi Guys,
Bit of background first...
I bought a 51 plate 1.2 Clio about 9 months ago, it's got high mileage but the idea was to run it until it died! It's a stop gap really...
Anyway, it's approaching 140k mils, and the clutch is beginning to slip. Had a quote from a local specialist of £380...
I've done a search, and I suppose I'm just after clarification really...
I have a 51 plate clio dynamique. The fogs have never worked, but I know it isn't the bulbs as the dash light doesn't come on when you turn the stalk.
The fuse is also fine, which leads me to the relay.
The relay is...
Cheers guys. MPG seems too low for me on the petrol so it'd probably have to be the diesel. Doesn't seem to be many diesel versions for sale at the minute locally so I'll keep my eyes open.
Hey guys,
Long time no see!! So, around 18 months ago I part ex'd my 172 for a Peugeot 207 1.4 HDi Envy. I got shot to pieces for making the swap, but I don't regret it. I was mainly doing short journeys around town so my 172 was killing my on fuel. Anyway, long story short the type of driving...
