41 years young, but sometimes I feel my age here!!!!!
One in the eye for the haters :rasp:. A lot of people seem to be angry here for absolutely no reason. I have a very positive outlook on life and would rather pull others up than get dragged down.
You are the first person that has answerd this. I posted the question before having read posts with brap in them.
This forum is made up of lots of different people (including us oldies!!!!) which is why it is such an interesting place to be.
Just found that too. Taking 21.99kmh and dividing by 1.6 = 13.74mph. Take the answer and times by 7.5 (7500 redline) = 103mph.
The reason I was asking was when looking at the 0-100 time for the 197 it is 18.7 secs. I wonder whether they managed to do that in 4th or had to change to 5th which...
Hi all
Does anyone have the highest speed you can drive in each gear in a 197? I would like the Renault official info if possible.
No bullsh1t answers please.
Thanks
Mikey, having gone from turbo power to VTEC and now my clio, the car will feel slower to you. Best to listen to those on here that have told you to learn to drive the car first before modding.
One thing the clio is not, is easy to drive quickly. Take this as a very positive statement and the...
I'm not a hater at all. IIRC you made the silly comment. Car looks nice. Does it have a turbo?
2 things:
1) I will keep my 197 thank you
2) WTF does Billy BRAP mean?
Sounds dangerous to me. You are going to be putting in a powerful engine without upgrading the brakes and suspension!!! A clio 172/182/197 is much more than a standard car with a bigger engine. Why don't you put the money towards buying a proper 172/182/197?
Compromise. Keep the car but stop the trackdays....for now. TBH what are you going to save selling your car and buying a cheaper one? Couple of grand? Defo not worth it. You will probably buy something that needs work :dapprove:
Washed mine just before the snow hit. Didn't leather it off as the water on the roof started to freeze after rinsing. I had just done about 200 miles on the motorway and wanted to get the salt off of the paintwork. Pretty sure I have a pin prick rust patch already.
My 197 has been fine in the snow. You can't defy the laws of physics in a 2 wheel drive car!!!
Although I have not driven a 200, there is no way that I would ever reach the limits of my 197's abilities on a public road and therefore the abilities of a 200 either. Do you intend to do track days?
Thing is, should you comparing the 197 to a saxo VTS or is it in the next class up? I would compare it to a Corsa VXR, CTR, Cooper S works etc.
Got quoted on my 197 at group 15 and a CTR at group 18!!!
Saying that a hot hatch is 10 groups higher than a 1.2 is a waste of time. Compare like...
I don't know if the 197 has a bespoke or a tweaked standard chassis and was referring to the bespoke body parts. What I have read is that Renault did so much work on the rear axle/suspention etc that the wheelbase is longer than a standard Clio. Don't know how much of a difference this makes to...
Can't work out whether you are being cynical or not? Apologies if you are not but there are some real moody people on here.
Wings, rear quarters and bumpers is most of the body work and for a £16k car shows real commitment. This thread is just a comment on my behalf and a welcome change from...
