I am technically minded but don't want to take a risk that I will balls up something as important as this. K-Tec have front pads for £90 + delivery, so when you add the fitting in the dealer price does not seem too bad to me.
Seems everyone else doesn't live that near to me!!!! I could just use my mechanic who is very good, sorts me out price wise but is a little unreliable.
Where is the best place to get genuine pads?
Quoted by my local Renault dealer for front brake pads for my 197. Sounds reasonable to me. What have you paid?
I have a good mechanic but have decided that I would prefer this car to be looked after by my main dealer as I have had great service from them.
Based in North West London. There are a few meets in Kent so hopefully I will get over there at some point. Bit worried I will be twice the age of everyone else
The disks still seem to have plenty of life in them and the pads have a few thousand miles in them too. I will keep an eye...
Pressure in tyres is 33 at front and 30 at rear.
I am not overly concerned about the brakes. Considering that they are 4 pot brembos, the single pot honda brakes in the CTR felt better. I think that I need to go on a few good fun runs in the 197 to really get used to them. I would like to go...
Hi all
I just let the wife take my new car out with one instruction......don't kerb it!!! As much as I would prefer her not to drive it, the fact that she wants to, and she gave me hell for buying it:S, means that she has finally come round:D:cool::D
Anyways, I was thinking of putting down...
Hi all
Going to be putting my private plate on soon as the V5 turns up. Currently they are screwed onto the car. Has anyone else stuck theirs on? I think that it looks much nicer IMO.
Anyone know of any issues with sticking the plates on?
When I used to go to driving meets in my CTR, there was a lad who had a new Evo 8 FQ330. It should have wiped the floor with us CTRs but always came in last as the driver would sh1T himself every time we went out. Just goes to show the driver makes a huge difference.
The scooby also has a lot...
I think that considering that this is a highly tuned 2 litre engine, 30mpg is quite acceptable.
I find it very hard to believe that the 1*2's return 38-45mpg, depending upon which thread you read, unless you drive them like a granny.
Glad to be proved wrong. I personally don't like the front of the 200 (which is where the hate is) but can't deny that it is a magic car. Saw one today coming towards me. Would have liked to say hello.
