Im sure you have thought of this? I used to have an old Reliant Scimitar GTE which as you know is fibreglass. There were a few third-party suppliers of bonnets with extra vents/scoops. If they didnt have any internal metal bracing across them during moulding, the buggers started to sag after a...
Would be interested in the cure for the rattling passenger seat. Not a problem when you carry a passenger. Seems as though the seat is slack in its runners. Can be reproduced if you give the seat a dunt in the backrest. Thinking of buying a temporay manikin for use when no passenger present;)...

Apologise for going off topic (plastic to ally) here!
Almost right Fred2001Dynamic.;) I had a 2000 1.6 16v sport (first with twin optic headlights, later the RSi) with an ally bonnet. My later 2001 1.6 16v Dynamic+ which replaced this model didnt. My current 2002 MK2 172 appears to have one.

The front wings are not fiberglass, but made of a special carbon based plastic material called NORYL. Other plastic panels on the newer clios are the front/rear bumpers, rear roof spoiler and side sills (172). Also, whilst on the subject of lighter materials, the bonnet on many clio sport models...

Just off the phone to the Stirling Reno dealer Service Manager. They received a new ECU disk yesterday (Version 8). Apparently the disk they receive covers all the current Reno models and is generally updated every few weeks by Reno. My car is booked in for next Sat. They will do a full...

Hi Face,
I will contact my Reno dealer in next couple of days. What dealer/franchise do you get your work done? If my Stirling Reno dealer knows nothing about this (most likely!) I could then refer them to your dealer for information. I am due to go in for some warranty work in about a weeks...

I think your last sentence just explained your problem! Basically, using the re-circulation mode any moisture in the car cant get out, condensing on the cold window surfaces. Probably more noticable now that the outside temperatures have dropped.
You could try moving to another area or wearing...

Hope youre ok Craggy. I know what you have gone through. I experienced a similar experience a few years back on the A7 Autoban in Germanland. I was a passenger in ,my mates 6 month old crappy Rover and was hit from behind by one of those old Daimler Benz German tanks. Impact was such that my...

Anyone noticed that the 2L MKII engine makes a louder whining noise than normal on idle when they start up from cold...not that loud but noticable. Normally lasts for a about a minute or so until the engine starts to heat up. Sounds like something to do with oil circulation/ timing gear...

I would be VERY interested in quality replacement mats, especially if they had the ClioSport logo on them. The black front mats supplied with my MKII are s**t. A chunk of pile came out of the drivers side, leaving the white backing, after 400 miles!! Plus the edges curl up and those stupid...

Hi Guys, I received my 2002 MKII in October this year (ordered mid August) from a UK Reno dealer. It has ESP/ASR fitted as standard. I think Reno have started to fit as standard in the last couple of months. They would have appeared to change the options avail on the 172 (eg. Cruise, sunroof...
Hi Timebomb, You never said in your post if this problem appeared suddenly or if has been getting gradually worse? If the prob appeared suddenly think back if you hit any big pot-holes/kerbs etc.? Have you had the front wheels off recently? If so, perhaps Nick may be closer to the problem. If...
Hi Windsor, Found the white allen screws you talked about on the top of each level motor unit. A 6mm allen key turned clockwise adjusts the lights higher. Think Ive managed to find a compromise between dipped beam length without being flashed by on-coming motorists. Not convinced this...
