    Oil Level Check

Nope only thing that appears is the odometer reading. Normaly I get the "Oil OK". As you say mike, if you press the reset button on the dash while the oil ok is displayed you get the wee blobs to show the lactual evel. That doesnt work now either. The function has completely disappeared!

    Annoying headlight stalk

Yep ....Ive spotted this feature with auto/non-auto lights mode. I think it is something to do with the switch mechanics. You are right Zidan, you have to be gentle on that stalk otherwise you are stuck on full flares!

    Anyone know why.......

As miltage2 suggests, switch you lamps on at the dash and stick a voltmeter across the bulb holder contacts. If you get 12-14V the bulb or contacts/holder are faulty. If you dont get any volts across the contacts, try the meter between chassis/ground/battery -ve and each holder contact in turn...

k-tecracing new grill for 2002 Clio

The stainless grill certainly looks different. Not entirely sure about it yet. Is it only the top grills or does it do the bottom also? I was thinking of spraying my Iceberg grills the same colour of lighter silver as on the 2.0 16V door trims. Has anybody done this / got any pictures?

How much RPM do you get in 5th

Superchargers normally dramatically increase mid-range torque, but dont necessary rev any higher. This is due to a balancing of boost/mechanical losses in driving the supercharger at higher rpm. So your 30-70 mph times should be blistering if setup correctly but with a slightly better top end...

    knocking under acceleration....

Hi Pugboy, Havent experienced this yet with the 172 probably due to the ESP/TC. My 2001 1.6 16V dyn + used to do this often when it was wet, even in a straight line. I reckon it was front wheel bounce (similar to axle tramp I used to get on my old MKI Escort - sh**te showing my age here!) when...

Cracking example mate. I hope you manage to get it all sorted out soon and back to original condition. Regards comments on polish, I have been using Autoglym for several years. Easy to apply and lasts. Some Super Resin followed by a coat of Super Gloss, the water just falls off. The car can...

    172 CUP

Over the past few years I have used nothing else but full synthetic Mobil 1 for my Clios and Audi Coupe S2. My 172 has now done 1100 miles so was planning a "confidence" oil/filter change. Can you supply this cheaper than the normal 27-30 squid for 4L?

    LIGHT WEIGHT BONNETS

Im sure you have thought of this? I used to have an old Reliant Scimitar GTE which as you know is fibreglass. There were a few third-party suppliers of bonnets with extra vents/scoops. If they didnt have any internal metal bracing across them during moulding, the buggers started to sag after a...
