Thanks for that, I had a look at the ones I bought and I can see what you mean. The balljoint is definitely not in a straight line with the wishbone, it's at an slight angle so the mounting point will effectively be pushed forward.
The wishbones were £123 including delivery from Renault Parts...
I got the wishbones from Renault, part numbers 8200257956 and 8200257957. How can I tell if they're the later parts?
I'll have a look at the rear beam bushes and track rod ends too.
I know that a lot of the suspension on my 182 cup is knocking on a bit and although it's going through the MoT with no worries it's feeling a little vague and under-damped so I've decided to do a refresh.
So far I've got the following:
Set of OE shocks
Cooksport springs
OE wishbones with...
Is it only when web browsing? If you download a juicy pdf (car brochure or similar) or a complex word document with images in it and scroll around/add some text how does that perform?
Worth downloading and running malware bytes if you've not already.
I had the same symptoms, the injector wasn't closing properly so was fine when driving normally or booting it but it was injecting too much fuel when not under load which made the engine run a bit rough and set the light flashing.
182 cat is supposed to be very free flowing so you won't see much if any power gain. Mine feels like I've lost a bit lower down the range but gained a bit at the top end, might just be imagining it though :)
Sounds great though.
I got mine from here, was the cheapest I could find at the time but someone said they'd seen them for just over £130 on another thread, didn't specify where though.

Yep, those are the ones.
Finally got the decat and ARB fitted yesterday. The decat seems pretty good, feels like I've lost a tiny bit of low down grunt but gained an equally tiny bit at the top end which I'm happy with. It's definitely improved the sound, I think the word is "fruitier" ;)
The...
It might not be throwing a fault code as such but the angle sensor could be returning a bad value for the position. Can that code reader report the sensor value? If not you might need to get it onto a CLiP to see what the sensor is reporting.
Bloody hell, that was wet!
I'll be at brands on the same rubber in a week or two - haven't decided which day to go for yet but if it's not dry I think I'll leave the road tyres on. Only got 2mm of tread on two of the AD08s and don't fancy that on standing water :)
I see where you're coming from there for sure. They're rally/autocross wheels really so are designed to keep stones out of the brakes while still offering plenty of cooling. The previous owner tracked his cup with them on so I should be fine.
The angle of the original pic probably didn't help...
I had that, terrible idle, flashing emissions light, cleared itself up under load. It was an injector on mine too. Best get the codes read and see if it points you at a specific cylinder.
I hear conflicting things about the decat pipe - some people say it gives better response and a few more bhp, some say it just improves the responsiveness, some say it does nothing for performance at all.
Everyone agrees it will be noisier :) I'd be surprised if a Milltek with the silencers...
:) Yeah, everything's relative.
We test drove a few Clios when shopping for my wife's and the GT felt like a rocket ship after trying a couple of 1.2s. We'd still have it now had it not been written off.
Yeah it's the same engine as the Twingo.
Performance is..... better than the 1.2 ;)
Seriously though it's no hot hatch but does at least have better shocks on it than the standard cars. Much less roll and better control through the corners.
Interesting, the wife's did that as well, was pissing water all over the engine and I strongly suspect that's what killed the coil packs so early. They went at about 30k miles.....
I'm 6'3" and only have a 32"/regular inside leg measurement so I'm very long in the body. I fit fine with a helmet on now the plastic mounts have been removed from under the standard seat but probably the most important change was replacing the standard steering wheel. The combination of the...
Like the look of those a lot. What else would you have to do to improve the brake cooling, do the wheel arch liners need modifying/removing? Would a bit of ducting be a good idea or would they be OK as-is?
The missus used to have one of those in Black, nice car once we got the coilpacks changed so it would run properly. Always felt it was a good chassis crying out for more power, still fun on the right road though.
Sadly some arsehole parked their van in the back of it and wrote it off :(
If you wanted top money for it then yes it would put me off, if it was priced realistically and the car drove well with plenty of evidence that it had been looked after recently then no I wouldn't care.
