    Most cost effective 172 modifications

I was told as long as the rest of the suspension is in good nick a rear ARB is the single best mod you can do in terms of the improvement for the cost. Hope it's true, because mine is on the way ;)

    Sorry... offsets....

That's a 172 cup though, ET 35 on that is only a couple of mm difference from stock, would be 10mm on the 182 which is why I was a bit concerned. I've got my eye on a slightly unusual set in ET40, I'll post back if I get them. Lovely looking car :)

    Volvo 850 T5-R

Ah the infamous yellow peril. Don't knock the saloons :D They're lighter and a lot stiffer than the estate with a lower centre of gravity too. They make surprisingly good performance cars with a few mods. I used to use Russ all the time to work on my T5 and never had a problem with him...

    Sorry... offsets....

Great, thanks Joe. I knew what the offset meant, just wasn't sure if I was going to end up fouling the arches. I may go for coilovers later if I keep this car long term, but again it doesn't sound like I'll have an issue as long as I don't drop it too much. Cheers, John

    Sorry... offsets....

OK I understand the concept of offsets, and I know the 182 Cup runs ET45 as standard. What I've not been able to find out is if it's going to be a problem if I go to ET35 or ET 40. I'm looking for a set of 15" wheels for track use, probably running 195 width tyres in 55 or 50 profile. The main...

The American Dream - My Knight Rider KITT Project :-)

Rebecca looks mature because she's 56 years old :) If you think she looks good you should see Bonnie/Patricia McPherson these days, incredible. Great thread, I was a huge KR fan when I was growing up, I don't think it's aged well at all but the car is still an amazing creation and OP your...

T50 I've had my wheel off about six times in the last couple of months :)

    Better vs fun

Thanks for all the feedback. Still not quite sure what I'm going to do but I'll certainly avoid cheap coilovers.

    Better vs fun

Odd question maybe, but here goes. I've modded a few cars in the past and enjoyed the extra grip and better handling, but sometimes that has come at the expense of fun/involvement. I'm completely in love with the level of feedback I get from my well worn 182 but I know if I refresh the...

Soundbar setup - ready to smash it

If it's the same as my sound bar the ARC from the TV connects to the HDMI out on the sound bar. I don't use the HDMI in on the sound bar at all, but if I wanted an audio only link to it that's how I'd do it according to the manual. It seems arse-about-face to me, but it does work.

How not to drive on a track day! GTR tool.

There had already been plenty of comment about the guys size before that, I thought it took away from the central point about his driving, but anyway it's a side issue and only my opinion. I had an email from MSV yesterday saying they had hopefully brought the marshalling at Bedford back to...

How not to drive on a track day! GTR tool.

I was there, but I'd left before the incident with the McLaren. He deserves the stick TBH, apart from the personal abuse about his size which is out of order and there's just no need for it. It was a very busy day and the majority of people were perfectly fine, but there was a huge spread of...

Giacomo-RS steering wheel spacer and Snappy retrimmed wheel

Mobius Action Camera - Cheap GoPro alternative/dashcam

I've got one, had it about a year to eighteen months now and no problems with it at all. I used to use it as a dashcam but my commute is less risky these days so now it's in the Clio for trackdays. Footage from a recent trackday here, although even at 1080p settings YouTube still drops the...

Giacomo-RS steering wheel spacer and Snappy retrimmed wheel

Thanks for the offer, sorry but I can't drop that low. Let's not muck about, I'll go straight to my lowest price. £210 inc delivery for the two will take them. I can lop another tenner off if someone is local and wants to collect from Thatcham/Newbury.

How to replace steering wheel angle sensor?

Thanks - had a look and found the clips. I've got the sensor off the old squib, now just got to replace the knackered one.

Giacomo-RS steering wheel spacer and Snappy retrimmed wheel

Is it? Balls.... Guess I over-bid when I bought it then. :( Not trying to rip anyone off, was just hoping to get back more or less what I paid. As I said I'm open to offers. Maybe I'll just change it to an auction rather than a BIN and see what it goes for as clearly I've not got a clue ;)

Retrimmed wheel: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/321556444871 Spacer: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/321556704918 If I sell them directly rather than through eBay I can let them go a bit cheaper so make me an offer. Cheers, John

How to replace steering wheel angle sensor?

Hi, I've just fitted a new squib from a breaker after having buggered up the wiring in my old one. Problem is I've now got the ESP/traction control light on. I've had it on Clip and it reports the steering wheel angle as something like 80,000 degrees and it won't reset - I think it's probably...

Isobar Bolts, how do they come out

Agreed. Can't get mine out either. Think I'm going to end up just cutting the head off as I'm stripping the back out for track use anyway.

Special spacer for stock steering wheel

Extending the airbag wires was beyond my meagre soldering skills so although I was really happy with the spacer I've replaced the original wheel and spacer with an aftermarket wheel and boss instead. I didn't have any problems with the indicators not cancelling though.

Special spacer for stock steering wheel

I ordered mine earlier on today, glad it seems to work well :) I'll do an install guide with pics etc if no-one else has by the time mine arrives.

Special spacer for stock steering wheel

True, it's not as if it would be a hard job, just would have been less hassle not to have to do it. I'm dithering between keeping the original wheel with this mod or just replacing the wheel with a smaller one with it's own boss and getting a spacer to fit between the new wheel and the boss.
