As much as I like these, people have awful perceptions of them, particularly when modified. Along the lines of 'hes bought a cheap old beamer just for the sake of having a beamer'
Think the Renault F1 sticker, cattle nose ring and colour coded bullets are a bit Cliosport 2008/9, other than that looks good, engine bay looks immaculate.
Doubt you would, they are reportedly s**t to drive.
People always trot out the line "you can tune deez up to like 30000 bhp", surely making them even more s**t to drive.
No lest tasteless than French Car Show, lets be fair.
I think Ford Fair as a show is a lot better, far more classics on show and cars with real pedigree than the offerings at FCS and a far better venue.
To be fair, the bad taste comments are equally applicable to French Car Show!
Mondeo owners club is pure comedy though...I'm sure I remember a galaxy/S-Max owners stand too from 2010 which had me giggling...
Yeah, a lot more cars there, shows what a huge following Fords have. A lot more owners clubs there, no fault of the FCS.
I liked the 0-60 too, got 9.7 in my old ZS
LOL at the depreciation chat. Find me a decent ST for less than £4500. Plenty of tidy 182's of similar age for £3500.
They've held their money a lot better than the Clios.
MK5 Fiesta / Puma gearchange sets the levels !
Second only to an EP3 type-R out of the cars I've driven.
Sorry to detract from your thread Luke, I will reiterate that the pics are stunning!
I went down last year and I thought it was a good day.
Some quite amusing sights such as the Mondeo owners club (full of chav dad types) and the concourse stand (which I love, but you have to laugh at some of the owner types, for whom Ford Fair is perhaps one of the few times they get out!)...
It's only the old 1.3 OHV engines that do it anyway !
The zetec engines run smoooooooth if looked after as I'm sure Mr Marr will concur...
Great pics and car Luke. "Uruguay"
Yeah as I see it, fuel tax and insurance are compulsary costs that come with any car.
The other costs will provide an insight onto the kind of maintenance expenses you might encounter with a 11 year old Clio 172.
Btw do you prefer this to the GTI? I sometimes wonder how long I can hold off the...
I totally agree about the rather pay someone else to do it mentality...I've suprised myself a few times at being reasonably handy with working on stuff, but anything beyond basic servicing I'd rather pay someone to know the jobs been done properly when its my own car!
This is interesting I have...
