I picked up a manufacturer refurb'd Toshiba 40" and 37" on the 'bay for £250 each when we bought our house about 5 years ago.
One for the bedroom one for the living room, so it can be done.
As above for me
Fatty style induction kit, 182 manifold, decat, stainless cat back, matched inlets and silicone leads on mine.
Haven't even bothered mapping it, RSTuner or otherwise.
Made 179.1 at the flywheel
When i first joined (2009 iirc) i had an iceberg ph2 on 38,000 miles
Now i still have the same iceberg ph2 on 54,000 miles
I've also had a pug 106 (wrote that off) and 2x mg ZR's (both of which i still own)
2 / 3 of those on mine :(
Although I can't actually take my towing eye out easily as it's an OMP one held in with 3 nyloc nuts.
f**k pops and bangs though, do it right or don't bother.
I've got flowflex in mine.
It was perfect to start with, now 15 months (8k miles) it seems to have gone soft on me and i'm getting exhaust knock on the arb again,
The main reason i got mine was my 172 cat had died, and it was cheaper to get a 182 manifold and link pipe than a new cat.
Then i found a sports cat cheap on ebay (£30) and had a custom sport cat link pipe made using the flanges off the 172 cat for mots.
Atleast with the 182 manifold, cat/decat...
My 172's just made 178.1bhp at the flywheel and 149ft/lb with a 182 mani, decat, induction kit and matched inlets.
For actual driveability, the 5k kick seems less intense, but it does pull better earlier on in the rev range rather than all at the end.
If the engine is out, then theres nothing...
Would like to see a mapped figure on standard cams before the 438's go in.
But can appreciate that won't happen due to time / costs.
Also horrified at the sellers response! Not sure if poor translation or generally agressive. Mistakes happen, it's the way they get dealt with that makes it though!
The way in question is do-able, and I've done it myself but you run the risk of tensioner failure as it won't get changed.
Plus, it won't work on a F4R due to the lip on the exhaust pulley.
It only works on engines where you can slide the belt on/off without a lip on the pulley.
Mine never came with an extender?
I've seen people saying they run cooler with the mains adapter, so i was considering trying that instead of running from the tv's usb.
Airflow isn't an issue as its on the side port of a wall mounted tv
