new deisals are designed to have a lot of torque very low down the rev range. they are a lot more refined than the old indirect injection deisal engines where you had to wait for the turbo to kick in. the new dci pulls well from right down the rev range and you dont get very much lag at all.
the bottem idler pulley is a tw*t to change as the rear belt cover goes over the top of the pulleys mounting plate.

anything mechanical has the possibilty to break. post up some detailed pics so i can have a look. i must admit its rare for a joint to fail unless its run out of grease due to a split gaitor.
the exhaust is one peice when first put on the car at production. the exhaust is sold in sections in after sales. you can get the back box and centre part separate and use renault sleeves to join them together.
the one touch window works through the uch on a clio. you would need a n/s window regulator from a clio model with one touch on the n/s. you would need to reconfigure the uch.i would have to look on a wiring diagram to see if there are any additional wiring reqd.
well the nut one you can just undo with a spanner,its just easier i wasnt thinking off what the filter would look like afterwards. oh and you dont get oil everywhere.
i like the filter with nuts on them because you can crack them off with a spanner and undo them by hand. filters without the nut i just knock them round with a screwdriver from underneath and when there loose undo it with my hand.
so theyve found lots of bits in the gearbox but cant see whats wrong with it. what kinda useless muppets they got working there? the bits would have to have come from somewhere (bearing,synchro ring etc). they cant blame your dad for his driving thats bolloks. i would report them to renault...
the button on newer models is used to go through the trip computer screens. on really old clios without trip its used to enter the immobilser code to code in new keys or overide the immobiliser.
the percentage idea only applies in two areas:-
1,a wear and tear considered part fails prematurely. eg-a clutch goes in the 2nd year (not covered) but the mileage etc gives the impression its worn out to early. renault could pay the full amount or they may offer to pay a contribution towards...
renaults have always slightly scuffed the outer edge of the rear tyres for as long as i can remember. as long as its not overly excessive then its ok in renaults eyes.
no ultrasonic sensors means no alarm. does it also have a visible led on the centre console or dash? renault fitment alarms work off the original vehicle key fob.
