renault use cobra compact alarms that work off the original key fob. they should come as standard spec as they are fitted at the import centres. would cost you about £250 fitted at a dealer.

we have a combined dealership with renault and nissan using the same building. they share workshops but have separate showrooms and used car pitches. nissan mechanics do a lot of renaults work as the nissan side isnt that busy.
yes the deisal v6 is a nissan engine.
ndo gearbox is also fitted in something else in renault other then the magane rs.
renault have a 2.2dci (g9t/gdu etc) and nissan have a 2.2dci and both are completly different. the nissan dci is only used in some of the very latest master van versions...
the new micra deisal uses the renault 1.5DCI engine. the new micra has the same chassis/running gear as the clio 2 phase 2/3. the renault master has a nissan engine in it in some versions. the NDO gearbox used in some renault models is a nissan gearbox. they all share various switches etc.
the insurance company will sell that on dirty deisal and it will be back on the road in no time. i would defo ask about buying it back. most of the time you can for a very good price.
the ecu uses an early rev limiter until coolant temp reaches 80c. you were just hitting that because the engine hadnt warmed up fully. will rev to almost 7500rpm once warmed up.

remove:-
1,curved plastic flap underneath heater controls that goes down to the centre console area. it should unclip from the top and pull out from the bottem.
2,unclip the small plastic trim that sits directly under the heater controls
3,remove the two 20 torx screws that were behind...
you get:-

3,cambelt idler pulley
