handy - yes, but worth £38 extra? - no. You could take your old hub to a garage and they would press in the new bearing for £10 if you supply the bearing.
The write up for meedyclio's head isn't there anymore - I think it may have been lost when they moved forum or something. If you do a search on there though there will be a fair bit of info, I think I had a few threads on there about tuning the 1.4 anyway if no one else did.
wtf has happened to the old forum??? Just tried to get on it just now and nothing is coming up, I thought it was still there. As I said above the thread wasn't moved to the new site iirc, I could only ever find it on the old site anyway.
Deffo worth more than £500. You can pick some good ones up for £500 or less, but in gengeral that car would be worth about £800-900.
Whats he asking for it?
as said above. Open filter will give you great noise but will lose performance whereas a closed panel filter will give you better performance but no noise.
try searching on the old forum at forum.cliosport.net as I don't think the one you are thinking of is on here. The basics though are:
Headwork, Laguna 1.8spi TB, cams, remap. These engine can, apparently, be good for about 110 - 120 bhp. You can also get a bit extra by putting on a 1.6 be...
Is there anyway to retrieve photos once they are deleted from a memory card? The reason I ask is that my mum deleted about 70 photos by accident from her camera (crap delete system and can be done easily) but as soon as it was done the memory card (SD memory card) was removed and hasn't had...
I don't know how people get away with charging so much for the torsion bar tbh. It's a piss easy job and with a 1.4 the chances are it won't be seized as it's a closed bar torsion bar.
lol, I was about to ask the same as eviljohn. I don't know how much garages usually charge, but £180 is a hell of a lot of money for the work - best be is to try and find somewhere cheaper, or get someone off here to do it.
the thing is though that if you are going from a 1.2 energy to a 1.4 energy it's about an extra 20bhp and you don't have to tell the insurance as both engines look identical (though of course you should tell them - just they aren't likely to notice) and also it's a straight swap and if you do it...
yes, but you would need brakes, suspension, ecu, loom, engine, manifold and downpipe, top engine mount (advisable but not necessary - can use 1.4) and would maybe have to butcher the underside of the bonnet. You can re-use the 1.4 gearbox, driveshafts and exhaust (from the downpipe back iirc).
tbh they can be had cheaper than that, but then again they usually have more milage on them than that one. However, on the other hand theres not really any way of proving that milage so who knows if they are telling the truth. I've seen quite a few go up for about £50 before.
not sure on the exact differences. Ask over on retro-renault.com and you will find out exactly whats different as there are a load of 19 16v owners on there. The only thing I have heard that NEEDS to be changed is the alternator but I am sure theres more, in face the airbox is also different...
I thought they were about £15 from renault :S . Can anyone confirm the price from renault, just that most of my local factors can't get them but I was just gonna order it along with some other bits from gsf - but if it's that cheap from renault I'll just go there.
TBH the prices of valvers have come rocketing down over the last few months. Generally speaking you can get one in very good condition for £1000. Personally I would stay well clear of that one if you are having doubts, or get someone local off the forum to go and have a look for you. Unless...
I'm not totally sure tbh mate. If you had the 1.2 Spi energy engine it would be a straight swap as they are ientical other than a larger bore pretty much, but I don't know if the DIET engine (that you have) will use the same mounts etc. It shouldn't be too difficult though as you could just...
don't know about oil use mate, only bought it a few weeks ago with a knackered gearbox and after putting in a new clutch and box this is the last thing I need - I've not even had a chance to drive it properly yet tbh.
I should have said before that it's been suggested already that chances are...
More fun with the 16v. Over the last few days the valver has been refusing to start and everytime I turn the key the solenoid clicks on the starter but thats it. Anyway I tried loads of s**t and it still wouldn't work so today tried to turn the engine over by hand incase the unthinkable had...
lol, don't worry I'm not running with just water - I just used water by itself when starting it up to test the system as the bugger keeps leaking coolant.
