Engine wise you can put the laguna tb, headwork, cams, remap and a 1.6 bottom end if you want. If you do a search theres loads of info about tuning these engines. They are good for reasonable power outputs, but it's not necessarily cheap getting there.
Has anyone had one of these contracts and had it turn out OK? I've done a search about a few of the sites offering the deals and a few of them seem to have crap reviews in terms of their customer services etc which isn't what I want if I'm going to have to claim money off them.
What would you suggest as the best phone that can be had for about £100. It doesn't matter whether it's buying from a shop or ebay as long as it's new. The only things it needs to have is an MP3 player, camera, FM radio and speakerphone but I would think most phones would have that now anyway...
thanks for that bunzee. I read all the terms and conditions and saw it was done by cashback. Is the contract you have which has just finished one with 12 months free? Just want to see if anyone has had one which has all turned out OK. My main worry would be to get a contract with a company...
Does anyone have a contract for their phone where you get 12 months free line rental on a 12-month contract? Just wondering as I was having a look HERE and wondered if I was missing something or if these deals are as good as they appear? I hardly use my phone all that much and was just going...
Not too sure about the GTT lump. The 1.4 energy though would slot straight in though in terms of loom, mounts gearbox, driveshafts etc etc. The only thing I'm not sure about is the ECU as I would think it would need to be changed if you put the 1.4 in there.
Why would you not want to put a...
On 16's you would get a lot of scubbing at 55mm. Best bet would be to get some 15's on a 45 profile tyre and then you can lower it 55mm without any scrubbing.
It's a really s**t design of the exhaust tbh and they almost all do it. Mine hangs really low but I usually clear speed bumps fine, however, I was away for a couple of days this weekend and on some single track roads I was scraping because the road was that crap and I had someone in the back of...
The renault original clutch is a Valeo one btw. I got a Unipart clutch for £70 as I found out they were valeo ones so about half the price of renault for the same part.
I've got an ECU from a ph1 valver here that I could sell to you for £20 inc P+P if you want. The code on it is "S101262101 c" it should work fine but your imobiliser would no longer work due to it being a Ph1 ECU. PM me if you are interested.
fair enough you can say sold as seen, but that implies that everything you have said about it at that time is true and then any further faults it develops are not covered in any way. The faults talked about here aren't the sort of thing that couldn't just happen and must have been like that...
WTF are you talking about Clio_Mk1? The quote you put in above about the compression on each cylinder was written by chris about a totally different engine than the one in question here!!! If you have a look HERE you will see the actual advert chris made for this engine. In it he doesn't mention...
good thinking ;)
Seriously though, it definately sounds like your clutch going. Probably looking at about £200 - £300 to get it done (at a guess). Tbh the clutch is just as difficult to change on the 1.2 as it is on the valver I would think, if not more awkward because on the 1.2 you have...
tyring doing a search mate. Theres loads you can do to these engines, but it's not really cheap tbh but with a bit of money they can be good for about 110bhp I've been told. Usual things are headwork, throttle body off a 1.8 SPi laguna, re-map, cams and some other bits and pieces I can't...
Yeah, the 1.4 will drop straight in. The one you are after is the 1.4 energy engine. I'm not sure about the ECU but you can re-use, the enigine mounts, driveshafts, gearbox and probably everything else tbh. The other thing is that they look identical to anyone just looking into the bay, even Mr...
As I said above, back box alone definately won't fit due to the different bore size. Also, the brackets should be the same for the 16v and 1.4 iirc. I'll go and double check just now.
Btw, is yours a diet or and energy engine Cli0?
No, because the bore would be a different size most likely - the 16v has a bigger bore. If you were to buy a cat back system it should fit fine though.
As Benson says, and also if they found out you were driving the Clio all the time they would probably refuse to pay out anyway as your 3rd party covewr for other cars is only supposed to be a sort of one off thing.
Nyphur & Remedi - It's not just about how you drive though, it just seems some RT's are better than others tbh - though obviously something else must be causing it. I have tried driving uber sensibly for quite a while when topping up to check the figures and I still only get about 75 miles to...
I'm not sure about mine at the moment as I've not had it insured for a while (re-insured yesterday though :)). Before that mine was a bit mixed though. When I first got it I go about 45mpg on average when I did a long journey, but later I was only getting about 75 miles to £10, though...
Maybe they are going to be putting an F7P lump in there ;) 137 bhp after all, just not a 2.0, lol. THey have seen the light and realised how much better the Mk1's really are.
PM Chris_H - he's in the paisley area and would probably do it for a very reasonably fee. If you don't get him on here try over on retro-renault.com as he is usually to be found over there.
