So I decided to crack on with my upgrade over the weekend....
System requirements are;
1, Amp adjustment must be easy, (to facilitate teaching 'noobies' or anyone willing to listen)....
2, Must play full range with hatch open....
3, Must be capable of producing 'BOOM BOOM BOOM'....
4, Must be...
With the stereo switched OFF;
Remove the RCA leads from the amp....
Switch stereo on as if playing as normal....
Rhythmic thumping still occuring indicates fault lies with the amp, sub or associated wiring....
Rhythmic thumping no longer occuring indicates fault lies with Head Unit or RCA...
If the sub has had a coil disconnected it will alter all its characteristics, best course of action would be to replace it....
With regards the Sony P5 amp, under no circumstances attempt to bridge this amp, on most dual output mono blocks it has no bearing, but on this amp it will damage the...
The problem may well be the famous Pioneer earth track issue....
Had a few similar issues lately on other forums, (its that time of year when people are messing), will go find a link....
Thats assuming you wish to fix it without stripping it or spending any money....
You simply connect both tweeter & mid driver in parallel from each side to one amplifier channel, so the right amp channel drives the right mid driver & right tweeter....
Each side should look something like this;
Filters are used to limit frequencies any given speaker will play....
You use the LPF to set the upper frequency you want your speaker to play...
You use the HPF to set the lower frequency you want your speaker to play...
These filters don't simply cut off frequencies, they have a gradual...
Just a thought, what happens if you reverse the polarity of an electromagnet ??
With regards your link, if anyone on TA recommends using a remote feed, (relay output), to both power fans and switch amps then all I can say is good luck to them....I wouldn't....(I read that thread & didn't find...
It's standard procedure to use a relay when you need remote feeds for multiple components, however it's not standard procedure to use the same feed to supply fans or other items such as neons etc etc....
I usually connect the switching supply to PIN 86 & the relay ground to PIN 85....
Hi Mr Dink, hope your well....
Been awhile since our paths have crossed on here....
Anyway, back to topic....
Are you sure that the above configuration will work ??
With regards using the output from the relay to run the fans & supply the amp remote, any chance this could induce noise ??
Almost right mate....
Live feed should be fused at source, (as close to Batt as poss)....If using courtesy light, no fuse required as circuit already fused....
Remote lead requires an in-line fuse just before the splice, (2amp)....This is to protect the head unit from any issues caused by...
Whats a concert scenario got to do with listening to music in a car ??
Two totally different experiences due to which senses are being used....
If the main aim of your install is to provide a true to life concert experience then I concur, rear speakers should only be used to imitate or...
Nothing wrong with the humble 6x9....
Been a top seller for years....
Problems arise when people use them in the wrong way, or simply employ poor installation techniques....ANY speaker can only be as good as its installation....
In a word....YES....
It depends on the type of fitting, on bulb holders that simply use 'spade' connections, I simply replace the positive connection with a 'piggy back' connector then connect feed to relay direct to this....
If the bulb holder has a direct soldered connection, then simply...
You can use any power source, Battery, (must be fused), ciggy lighter etc etc.....
I usually use the live supply to the boot courtesy light, (these are negative switched & so are constantly live)....
Not quite sorted yet then....
Ok, Winter or summer use has little bearing in this instance, if your amps will overheat in summer, then chances are they will in winter....
The main issue with amplifier heat build up is the increase in internal resistance of many component parts, the hotter an...
Start a new thread mate, each application is different....
Include all relevant info....
No point expanding this thread with wiring schemes etc etc because it won't aid possible future searches carried out by others....
G'day mate....(sorry, couldn't resist lol)....
OK, in your scenario you have both upgraded in terms of quality & cone area....
The increase in cone area alone will yield higher output, this is due to greater air movement....
The increase in both component quality & build quality will allow...
The rated input power handling of a speaker has little or no bearing on output quality....
Output quality at any output level requires one main attribute, thats a good quality input signal....
You can spend £££s on speakers, but they can still only reproduce sound in accordance to the input...
Just what are you trying to rectify by fitting uprated or better quality speakers ???
If your after more volume, then your wasting your time....
If your after better sound quality at higher volume, then your wasting your time....
If your after better sound quality at lower volume, then you may...
Hi mate....
There is simply no 'best' manufacturer mate....
Head Unit choice is a very personal affair, to simply buy on another persons recommendation would be a little foolish to be fair mate....
I would suggest you spend some time visiting your local Audio outlets & trying a few different...
This can't be a serious thread....
Everybody already knows the answer....
A boys car is a steed, it needs to be slick & quick, soon as you have a full licence you consider yourself to be a road warrior capable of taking on any road, any conditions, with equal abandon....Its not a Clio or Corsa...
