Look at the seat damage in the top pic, this damage was caused by a similar weighted sub to the bottom two pics....
If it were a heavy weight sub involved in the top pic, then the whole thing would have penetrated through into the cabin area & could have caused a fatality....
As they say, the...
I have family in the emergency services, I know through them what a poorly mounted sub can do....
Tales of rear seats being torn from their mounts due to heavy weight subs, subs that have simply torn themselves free from the enclosure due to being mounted with screws....One driver even remarked...
You've answered your own question mate....
You have either;
Front & Rear Pre-Outs
Front & Sub Pre-Outs
The Sub/Rear Pre-Out is switchable between the two via the Head Units menus....
There is no way to maintain all features that 3 Pre-Outs would give you, its a case of either or I'm...
Evening mate, seems you already have it sussed, but just in case;
RCA leads connect to sockets highlighted in RED, (doesn't matter which way round, amp gives monaural output only)....
Phase Switch, (not in pic), set at 0' initially, if any issues relating to timing are apparent, then try...
:lolup:Thanks for ^^that^^ mate, made me eject my morning coffee through my nose....
Morning mate,
I think your missing the point, or rather not considering all the mitigating circumstances....
When supplying power to the boot your main aim is always safety, however, safety doesn't equate...
The 'Jack Hammer' carries a fair dollop of 'WoW' factor, but not much else....Performance simply doesn't match the price tag imo....
I have recently heard a set of the Orion HCCA components, they were very impressive....Reckon they will be included in my next upgrade, (inverted obviously ;))....
I personally would have gone the XXX v3 route myself....
The HCCA subs are a little power hungry. Assuming you have the dual 2ohm version, which will allow 1ohm operation of your Kicker amp, then upto 1.2Kw will just about get this sub moving....
You would be wise to opt for the Orion D5000 to...
Speaker info;
Coaxials---One unit, (multiple speakers), supplying full range sound, (can be 2way, 3way or 4way)....
2way coaxials;
Components---Multiple seperate units, (components), supplying full range sound, (can be 2way or 3way)....
These generally consist of a passive crossover, mid...
One possible cause is a faulty, (dry solder), connection that is affected by heat build up....So as the unit is switched off the joint cools allowing partial connection, as the joint heats back up, (due to high resistance within the joint), it again fails due to heat....
The location of this...
Interesting opinions here on the pro's & cons of uprated speaker cable....
Some will argue that copper is copper so no difference should be apparent, some will argue it's all down to number of strands, some will state OFC has no benefits, I personally would opt for OFC every time with a high...
I've heard arguments that 128kbps is considered to be CD quality by many, I've also heard that 320kbps, (which I use), is considered to be a poor second to original CDs....It's all down to personal preference....
My point wasn't specifically aimed at the compression settings, more towards the...
80% installation, 20% kit....
A correctly installed & amplified set of £70 components will sound much nicer than a £500 set simply screwed in place & driven via a Head Unit....
I would suggest you try to demo a few different brands at your local car audio dealer as each brand has a certain...
I-Poo = MP3
MP3 = Compression
Compression = Lost Quality
In some instances whatever software you use to rip music to MP3 can adversely affect some recording levels....
Now to your actual car....
1, check speaker 'phasing'
2, try different speaker 'phasing' ,(one at a time, if it sounds...
I'm sorry to say mate, but without a sub you will struggle for bass in most cases....
Even high end sound quality orientated installs still require a sub or two....
You need to consider how best it is to reproduce the lower frequencies, 13cm mid drivers simply aren't going to manage it...
The single most important item in any chain is its weakest link, because thats where all the problems start....
In your proposed audio chain the weakest link is the stock head unit....
Absolutely no point strengthening other areas without addressing this weakest link....
Even using a JL Audio...
Like I said;
I don't own a Clio manual, so I can't check out how the circuits concerned are wired, I can only go by info displayed....
The stock looms are designed/built down to a budget, I can't imagine Renault would use that guage of power cable to/from the switches unless it was...
I personally wouldn't do this....To avoid the risk of overloading the switch or creating a point of high resistance I would use the Headlight Flash supply feed as a switching current for a 30amp relay....The addition of a dash switch to isolate this function should also be fitted into this...
At that level it could be a court summons rather than a fixed penalty mate....Depends if local traffic cops are operating any kind of clamp down....
Was it a single flash, or two flashes a second apart....
Re: Speakers for 182
A few pointers mate;
CarAudioCentre---Avoid like they have the plague....
In-Phase---CarAudioCentres own overpriced brand, they often push this brand onto unsuspecting punters claiming massive savings, (check your link, your saving £398.71p on two sets of 13cm speakers)...
Start at the obvious mate....
All your symptoms are indicative of low voltage, bought on by a sharp shock through your car....
1, Battery clamps, (Loose, damaged battery posts)
2, Battery earth point, (Loose, broken)
3, Engine/Gearbox earth, (as above)
4, Alternator mounting bolts, (as above)...
A few pointers mate....
1, Generic enclosures shouldn't be modified unless you know exactly what your doing....Far better to simply design & build a new one....
2, When planning an audio install one of the first stages is to confirm how much 'space' you have for an enclosure....Then you...
With car audio 'Less' is usually 'More'....
Obviously its your car, your set up, your choice....
Personally I would start off easy & add to your system over time, rather than simply cram everything in & struggle to get it sounding right....
You seem to be paying little or no attention to the...
Should this read 4X 10w rms....
Maybe 4X 15w rms whilst playing a '0dB' 50hz test tone....
Distortion is apparent due to the amplifier within your Head Unit running out of steam mate....
A little snippet from a previous thread I did....
1, the average headunit is fused at 10amps, these...
I would suggest you try to listen to a few car setups before you decide what YOU personally require....
A speaker simply reproduces sound in accordance to the signal it receives, a lower frequency will require more cone excursion & so more input power....Hence, your current speakers are...
OK,
A picture paints a thousand words, if your sub is wired as your pic, (with one coil shorted out), then that needs to be sorted before you try it again....
The second terminals on each coil are simply to make wiring easier....So if you configure your coils like this, your running your coils...
Ok, its now time to check the actual amplifier to sub wiring configuration....
The sub your using looks like a dual 4ohm voice coil sub, so can be configured to show either a 2ohm or 8ohm final impedance....
The Juice Amplifier your using is a 2ch Amplifier, it would appear to be a budget...
OK,
JVC are claiming a 2.5v Pre-Out....
Juice Amp settings;
Stereo/Mono switch----Mono, (if present on amp)
Filter Switch----Low Pass, (Choices, HPF, LPF, Flat or Off), select LPF
Crossover Point----Set at approx 80Hz
Gain/Sensitivity control----2.5v pre-out signal indicates 50% to 75%...
