Its a personal choice, for me I couldnt justify the cost plus the money I would lose on my 182. You also have to remember that you lose a fair bit of kit as well, leather in front and back (although you get the lovely recaros), cc and xenons.
However if you like the colour/looks and want the...
I know what you mean mate, IMO the 255 look so much better and from what Ive read (as I havent driven any) the 255 is significantly quicker and handles better
I would go for the MK1 over the meg 225 though as they are more rare and special
I dont think 10k is enough to get a good example, also if thats all you can afford (assuming you are borrowing the money and not buying it outright) then running it may be a problem as they are not cheap
I think most people on here know that some BMW, Audis and Mercs are much faster than the the Renaultsport Clios but the majority of them arent. If you look across the whole BMW range you normally have to go the top or near the top of each class to get a car that can keep up or out accelerate a...
Not debating that the ability to drive any car fast is down to the driver but a 182 handles better than a 172.
As for BHP, Renault say one has 172 and one has 182. They make the cars so ill take there word for it. Lets be honest most rolling roads are as much use as a chocolate fire guard...
When rolling roaded there are always going to be slight difference, especially due to mileage as well. In reality though the average 182 will have 10bhp more than the 172.
The 182 IMO looks better, (i prefer the wheels and the twin exhaust) and ive been told it handles better but I havent...
Just been to the Renualt Dealer (Reg Vardy Rotherham) to sort a few things out. Firstly I have a little dent on the passenger door no bigger than a 5 pence piece and they said it would cost about £40 to repair which I thought was quite good. Secondly I had a few warranty issues, I have a little...
I dont think it thats much of a joke, at the end of the day they are still a 182 with slightly better handling, in a different colour, with different wheels and different front seats. They also lose quite alot of kit compared to the full fat 182.
I think somepeople on here make them out to be...
Yeah but it still wont be as fast as it is heavier and then your insurance will probably be more than a 172/182 as insurance companies are not too keen on performance increasing modifications
Some magazines have got slightly quicker 0-60 and 0-100 times for the 182 than the 172. Somepeople on here claim the 172 cup is faster than the 172 due to the higher power to weight ratio and on that basis so should the 182 (10bhp more and slightly lighter)
In reality though I would think...
If you are buying a second hand car like a 172/182 it is obvious it is going to have been driven reasonably hard at best, thats why people buy them. Its the same for any performance car you cant expect it to have 40k on it and never have been redlined. As long as it has been looked after well...
Same here, but to be fair I dont like driving fast myself. I occasionally accelerate as fast as the car will go to 60/70etc but I rarely exceed 80mph on the motorway as theres no point what so ever, you are in danger of losing your licence at silly speeds and secondly its just plain dangerous...
Yeah, I dont do much town driving as it more of a weekend tool, but driving on A and B roads mainly with the odd blast now and then and I still return 35mpg, awesome!
I let her see 7krpm every now and then. Too be honest though I don’t drive the 182 as hard as I thought I would when I first bought it
however I did have a little play with a 328 BMW (R reg) yesterday, not as fast as I thought, I thought it would be pretty equal but I was definitely quicker...
I stand corrected, although I must point out when I asked the renault salesman about the 5k kick he informed me that it was because of VVT!!
They really dont know much about the cars!
