My 182 alarm tends to beep when something is wrong, i.e window open, door not shut properly etc. Occasionally though it does beep when everything appears fine, so i just unlock it and lock it again using the remote key fob and its fine
My average is about 35mpg, once I filled the 182 up with optimax and set off from the petrol station (its straight onto a sixty road) and drove about 5 miles to my mums house (drove like a grandad) and the mpg on the trip counter was on 53mpg!
I went to halfords a few weeks ago to get one of thsoe tax disc holder kits and i noticed they were selling the sport badge, it officially wasnt an official renault part but it looked identical to it, same font and everything
I have the video but its 10mb, not sure if i can send it via hotmail, maybe i can send it if you have got msn, but im not sure, any idea?

how come you are changing from the FRS to the 172?
I found the FRS was cheaper to insure as well which is strange as the FRS is faster and is worth more. There is a cool vid on here of a FRS v 182, there is nothing in it at all until licencse losing speed and then the FRS destroys it

Welcome to cliosport mate, and a good choice on the 172 cup.
As for tuning the engines it is not easy at all, and getting 200bhp out of them cost around 2.5k
Alot of people on here got 182 brand new for 12-13k some maybe even cheaper so thats probably why people are saying it expensive.
Although according to Parkers £11,500 is the going rate from a Renault dealer for a 182 full fat 54 plate with 10,000 miles on it, so on that basis that price...
its not just a few bits though there are alot of differences between the 172 cup and the 182
10 Bhp
twin exhaust
Climate control
Much nicer interior
Xenons
More refined due to better sound proofing
to name a few, also you will be getting a newer car as well. At the end of the day you...
Rentech and GDI are highly reccommended but for most people (me included) it is to far to travel, doing a 600 mile (rentech) round trip for an oil change is daft IMO and it would work out cheaper taking in to renault (although the service will be nowhere near as good)
In general Clio's are reliable cars but they do have a few niggling problems, such as engine mounts and the odd rattles.
As for servicing for the 1st and 2nd service at a main renault dealer you are looking at about £200 but as you car is past that and it is coming up to its 1st major service...
It depends whether its for part exchange, private sale or buying from a dealer.
I would expect from a dealer you would be looking about 11k, 10k private
Heres a link to some trophy wheels on ebay

Altough buying from someone who thinks there is a 172 trophy could be risky!
Get the 182, the civic is good but is mor expensive.
As for the MCS they are good cars but are a little heavy and becuase of this they are a fair bit slower than the 182/CTR
Test drive them all and see what you think
