Yup common problem, we have done 3 or 4 rad replacements due to this very problem in the last couple of months. We replace the rad and trip the housing edge straight so that it won't reoccur.
Extract, rebuild, refit with a new clutch whilst your at it.
I would push towards a rebuild over buying another SH box as it will still have questionable reliability.
As above, not viable to remove both the belts & put them back on again as it throws up a plethora of warranty problems / nevermind the simple problem of it being half arsed workmanship.
The fabled 5k kick is due to a number of factors, the primary one being the efficiency of the manifold at that specific rpm. (Resonance of gas pressure waves etc.)
