there is a nice white one thats just been magaine featured french car i think . yeah i was after a 172 one but the one at the breakers yard was worn and the leather had been picked of so i left it , keeping a eye out for one tho
me and a mate made a rear strut brace and that was painted blue with renault sport stickers , this has since been repainted just plain blue . and have bought new components and tweeters for it .
i am now stuck for money yet again as work has let me down but will be updated as i do little...
then painted diamonds yellow ( front bumper is in process on being painted )
painted dials silver same as 172 and steering wheel badge yellow , and painted dash strips matt silver ( were blue before )
then painted renault logo yellow and the surround blue ( was grey before )
then i decided i wanted a bit more stopping power and making it look that bit closer to a real 172 so i bought full 172 suspension setup wishbones hubs shafts brakes etc and got them all fitted up , dont have any pics of fitting didnt think about making a project thread lol .
heres a pic of them...
i havnt passed my test yet :( been in and out of work for the past year so havnt had chance to get it sorted , what colours your 182 i will of probs seen you around
then the turbo was removed and a newer one that was in ''mint '' condition was bought from ebay and fitted but the car still smoked very heavily ! so i removed the turbo again and stripped the top end
Then the engine had a full rebuild anything that was worn was replaced , did have pics...
hi this is my van it started out as standard van in a dark blue (similar to monaco blue )
dont have any before pics :(
then it had a full 172 bodykit fitted and painted in think its artic blue ?? some one may recognise the colour .
then it went to derv doctor for a while to be mapped...
i thought it was 7kg per bhp , i tried explainin that to some one once and they thought it actually gave there engine more power :S . go for it then dude worst comes to the worst you can put it all back in again
if you can put up with the extra road noise etc and will find a benefit for the extra weight lost , ie track days , or accelerating upto the speedlimit very quickly :P then go for it , otherwise leave it porbs not noticable enough to make a diff
give it a good sand down mate , i did it with p400 which is normally enough but for that i used 180 as the badge was quite hard to key up , then high filled and flatted mines been fine and has survived quite a few goes with the jetwash
yeah mate i could am doin alex's some time this week so you can see how it goes , it will want cutting out then fiberglassing then filling but should come out fine .
thats were the glass goes :P
i read some were on here that its for sat navs or something along those lines because they dont always transmit a signal through the windscreen due to a coating they have onthem, thats why you buy aerial/signal boosters for them . could be wrong tho
i wouldnt use carbs tbh its like taking a step backwards from a injection based system , bodies would be better if funds allow and probably alot more reliable .
i didint think any of them had oil cooler's , if your after one buy a sandwhich plate of ebay and then a universal oil cooler , but dont think oil temps get high enough unless you running alot of boost .
i prefer waterbase , get loadsa lacquer on it then polish the c**t of it ;) , never really used 2pac apart from primer or celly .
and how are you supposed to use the stuff that halfords mix , i asked the ''expert '' who mixxed the paint for me and he said '' i dunno:O ''
i mixed it 50/50...
