    If your going to be topping your oil up, I would go for a full oil and filter change to be on the safe side. You dont really wanna mix. I was under the impression that the 172 came with part syth/part mineral!?

    Andy its exactly the same stuff, as long as its fully syn. and rated at 5W - 40W youre fine. Shell Ultra Helix, Magnetec and Elf(if you can find it) are all much of a muchness. Ill stand corrected if anyone knows better!

    Did I say a Cupra could take a 172? Anyway, it still pisses me off that I have bought a car for 14 odd grand and it doesnt have anywhere near the quoted BHP, bit of a con really! P.S. Even chipped cupras cant get away from me!

    I think the whole thing stinks! 164BHP!!!! I regularly go up against my mates 195BHP Cupra and easily manage to keep up and sometimes pull away from him. However there is anther 172 that goes about and he destroys it. I think Renault have a very high tolerance level for the engine...

    Moving Foward as a Club

    Doing a 1/4 mile time is also down to driver skill, theres a guy at crail with a 172 that struggled to get into the 15s. Hardly a true reflection of the car! BTW I dont mean to sound so argumentative!
