was it SJ54? I passed that one near Fordton leisure centre tonight (i.e. just up from the Oodi garage). I saw that Christopher chap the other day too, well I think it was him, I couldn't really see for being dazzled by headlights at 8.15am on a lovely sunny morning
It should also say "Must be cleaned every a day. Any cleaning session over 2 hours must be evidenced with photos in the Media section just in case nobody has ever seen a clean Clio before".
don't be fooled by "the more pixels the better" cos that's bollox! It's no good having 10.2 million billion pixels if they are all blurred!
Canon/Nikon offer similar performance, what lens you stick on the camera makes the difference. I'd suggest trying a 400D (or whatever the entry level...
Because when the crews make the pacenotes they are generally restricted to 30mph or slower. At 30mph there can be bends that could be flat out at 120mph but it's hard to tell for sure, hence there are maybe's in the notes.
I'll be driving on those lovely Manx lanes in 3 weeks :)
I have 5 lens with my DSLR oops :o I'd better sell a couple I think.
With an 18-55 only you'll be fairly restricted in the range of city/landscape shots you can take, I'd go for a bridge camera with a good zoom range if I were you, you can then zoom in on architectural features and such like.
Army ranges near Brecon, used for a few rallies each year, my Clio nearly got hit by a shell there once, I should've been more careful where I parked up for the night :o
quite a few places where the cars take off....
how do you work out that £185.45+VAT (for the version with the 1Gb card) is cheaper than £175 including VAT?
I'd suggest googling "pixmania complaints" before buying anything from them...

...not the fastest at delivering products but usually amongst the best for prices.
That price includes 1Gb card as well.
If anyone is interested in doing this years Westmorland the regs are out now, copy at http://www.edenvalleymotorclub.co.uk/downloads/Westmorland_Regs_07.pdf
I should be at the event myself, not sure whether as competitor or photographer yet!
A friend of mine has just built a 306 Rallye for road rallying, his seems to be pretty good on the corners. Although I've used my Clio on events I used a prepped Astra now, it's safer with cage/sumpguard etc and also not as expensive if I damage it!
Yeah mine is standard I was parked in the gateway bit. Do you mean the Evo that was parked right by the gate? That was my friend Marks.
I saw you on Morecambe rally, clattering your sumpguard in a farmyard, I think Scirocco's are a bit low for the whites?!
www.britishrally.co.uk (on the forum) or your local car club - there are a few in Cumbria, KLMC, Eden Valley, West Cumbria etc. There is an event this weekend based at Garstang in North Lancs if you are interested.
You'll have walked past my car then, it was parked right by the gate :o
It was the Morecambe rally you did. The Westmorland is in April and usually starts from Tebay.
I was photographing the Ribble Valley one at the weekend, I'm doing the Bolton Clubman one on Saturday night - it's based...
yeah a road rally, driving round the lanes at night trying not to get lost while keeping to a target time. Great fun and cheap to enter :)
thanks LadySarah :o
Thanks, the rally photography is a hobby but I've had a quite a lot of pics published in Motorsports News etc and I do press stuff for a few crews. I'm doing more competing than photographing now though, I did an event a couple of weeks ago around Newby Bridge area which was pretty good :)
Cracking pics there! I don't think I'd be hanging over the top of the screes taking pics though!
My pics were with a Nikon D200, I didn't use a tripod for them.
