With the gearbox oil make sure you get the right grade and most on here recomend castrol gear oil.
I would get the guy round the corner to do it over Kwick Fit. Maybe get him to show you how to do it.
The heatsheild is the thin metal thats above the exhaust.
Also note that the holes do not line up with the ones by the door. Look at where they are on the seat to get an idea of where they are in relation to the other 2.
Sort of true. However if air-con isn't used often then the rubber seals in the system can dry out, due to the oil in the system not being circulated which in turn lets the gas escape and then the system will need to be regassed.
Although the gas 'leaks' out in this way it is not a real leak...
If its not used often then the seals dry up and it will leak gas. You should use at least once a week (preferably on every journey even if only for 5-10 minutes and even in the winter) to keep the seals well lubricated.
Also before anyone says you can use the aircon in the winter but just...
The belt should not be any tighter than the old one that come's off otherwise there would be a chance of the timing being incorrect. I just don't see the point of all these people changing it when they are known NOT to be a faulty part.
Plus the coolant pump can be changed by just removing...
Why does everybody recommend getting the waterpump done on the sport engines? Has anybody actually heard of one failing!!??
It can't be a common problem. Seems to be a cliosport.net myth and I expect renault have been doing a cracking trade in waterpumps!
Set out to adjust the handbrake cable today then noticed that the inner rear pads were down to 0.5-1mm of pad! They have only been on there about 20,000 miles is this a normal amount of wear? They have been through a trackday as well.
The drivers side disk was quite worn compared to the...
Thats for use in PC watercooling which is not its attended use. When I used it in my water cooling setup it made a right mess of my pipes but it did reduce temperatures by a few degrees. I havn't used it since or in a car though.
Its all subjective to what you call loud. I dont think its a police magnet. I find the police only pull people over who are driving like p****s not because how loud there exhaust is.
I like the sound mine makes I just dont like the boom at motorway speeds. Its reasonably quiet when driving...
You'll have to take a hacksaw to the "elephants trunk" tail pipe so its sits above the base of the PH1's bumper or it looks crap. I think the exhaust is mainly for the PH2 which I think has a deeper rear bumper.
My stealth isn't raspy but it does drone when it gets very hot and on the motorway. It got quieter after a few thousand miles. I just wish I could do something to stop the droning on long journeys.
I removed mine but then cut around the silver heatsheild so that could be put back on. The sheild needs to be there to stop heat getting to the brake lines.
