I would go for 5mm personally. I know it doesn't sound much but it made a noticible difference on mine and improved handling as I'm now running a similar track to the 172cup.
Cars on 92k now I'm starting to think about changing the dampers as I'm not sure they have ever been done. Are the Konis worth the money or should I stick to standard shocks?
I've got eibach pro springs and do occasional trackdays.
Thats what mine is, any idea what to put on it to stop it drying out? Its quite a tight space to get too and I wary of getting grease on the clutch plate.
Mine were fantastic on the track and are pretty good on the road once warm though they arn't terrible when cold they just need a few warm up stops in the morning.
I bedded mine in by doing 8 hard stops from 70mph to 10mph to get them really really hot and then drove home gently to let them...
Just make sure he has the right tools for doing the cambelt or your going to be on here in a few weeks asking how much its going to be for an engine rebuild....

The engines are quite whiney anyway but anything particuarly loud will need to be checked out. A very whiney belt usually indicates that its been over tensioned.
But 90% of the time when you need the acceleration and mid gear torque you dont want to be changing down and reving the nuts off of it to achieve it. (Well I dont anyway) I know the clios not got the best torque curve in the world but its got enough low down to make it bearable for my daily...
I talking about the engine in stock form. IMO it lacks low down grunt and has to be driven way to hard to get the best out of it and the one my friend had was very thirsty.
However I do agree that as far as reliabilty goes theres nothing that can touch them. Theres a video on youtube of one...
