    Setting Headunit Properly

Have just amped my direct Renault replacement pioneers and they sound allot better than before. I know what people hear and what they think sound good is very subjective. However do I need to set any High of Low pass filters up when amping components even though I do not have a sub-woofer...

    Clio 172 MPG

A Lambda sensor controls the fuel air ratio and when they start to fail the car runs a default setting which is quite rich (more fuel per unit of air) hence ecconomy decreases.

    Extremely poor radio reception??

Mines rubbish even after getting a new base. Does anyone know if one of these would help?

    Clio 172 MPG

I'm getting about 350miles a tank with similar driving so it might be worth changing the lambda sensor

    Top mounts

Top mounts reduce play in the suspension to tighten up the steering and improve the feedback given to the driver. Well worth the money IMO as ive just done mine and there is a noticable difference. A strut brace joins the two trurrets together and reduces chassis twist when cornering although...

    central locking button

Quite a comman fault IIRC it'll be the switch so you'll have to get a new one. It might be worth doing a search to check though

    Nearside front shock noise??

I had this today and it was because my top mount had come loose so whilst going over a bump the shock was dropping down by a few mill.

    Matching new body parts

I understand that bigger panels need to be blended and we always did blend new paintwork in when I was there. What I was trying to say (quite badly) is that even without blending the car would be a close match but I do agree that it would never be a perfect match and I for one would notice this...

    Matching new body parts

It's really not that hard if you have colour cards and the car it needs matching too. But like most people on here you just can't believe that somebody can actually learn to do something in a short space of time. I had more than just a shot of doing it seing as my uni summer holiday was 5...

    Matching new body parts

Why? If a sprayer can't match the colour of your car then they are not doing there job properly. I worked as a sprayer over a summer whilst at university and its not exactly hard to match a colour providing you have had the sense to get the customer to leave there so the new parts can be blended...

TBH if they don't match the colour then they should be doing it again free of charge until its right.

Compbrake solid top mount question, anyone who has fitted them

Thanks for the reply Kam. Ive fitted them with washers now anyway but that will be a good reference for future people who install them.

Compbrake solid top mount question, anyone who has fitted them

Think I should check the oring has gone into the gap then! I used an imperial socket on mine as it fitted perfectly. It was a 1 inch one I think!

Most VFM way to get performance from a 1*2

IMO VFM would be to spend it on suspension and brakes and then learn how to drive the car properly.

Whats the reason for not using the spacers as surely the top mount will hit the spring hat now?

Compbrake solid top mount question, anyone who has fitted them

I went to B&Q to get my washers and o-rings. I used a poly washer for between the top mount and the strut and then used a rubber washer and oring on the top. What is the o-ring actually for as I do not see the point of it being on there?
