Car looks very tidy mate.
Although personally I feel the wheels REALLY let it down. I actually think those wheels look awful. But as long as you like them that's what matters.
Looked good fun from the video. Noticed your dummy on the green MX ;)
I don't actually know what the difference is between the Tricolore and Nippons :o
So the modified Clios are Class A (Sonny, Dinger, Tony, James, Russ etc) (I saw Sonny up ahead, and Tony in the 106, but couldn't see anyone...
Re: ArcticClio182...progress..
Oh is that all they are lol!
Thanks for the offer mate. But probably worth just buying on eBay and having a load of spare lol.
Do you have the link easily to hand please?
I've you've just put new tyres on. Then probably best to make use of them and keep the same wheels. Or at least the same sized wheels. Rather than going for 15" F1s etc. I think F1s do also come in 16" but are probably quite rare.
I don't personally like the standard 182 wheels. They are...
Hundred of photos on the forum mate. Just have a search.
In regard to getting a respray vs a refurb. That depends on what wheels you want and like. Then what wheels might be more purposeful for what you have planned for the car.
Re: The life of... SharkyUK's Trophy [& Fred's V6]
Awesome. How the F did I miss this update!!
Fantastic that you've finally got it back and with great results. I bet it goes very well indeed, combined with that sound = WIN.
Chuffed for you mate. Some more pictures would be good though...
Yes. You just need to un do the engine mount and support the engine with a jack. Use a plank of wood though so you don't damage the sump.
You'll then be able to get to bolt to take it off.
Oh I see. So the bottom slotted washers are to swap between the wider spacing of the 182 and 172 etc?
AST have very kindly posted me some longer bolts anyway :) When I mentioned it to them they weren't happy the bolt wasn't reaching the nyloc nut.
That's right mate yeah. But I think the camber slots are fixed anyway. I got a load in a bag with the kit. So I'm assuming your remove and replace with different washers to increase or decrease as you please
Just hoping they arrive in time now, so save any hassle.
You have the same slotted washer things on your bottom bolt hole in those pics.
For some reason I have these on both holes lol. It's for camber isn't it. Because the actual hole on the shock isn't circular its stretched. Then you fix these slots in the desired position to give camber??
No...
As above, the shock to hub bolts.
Mine are the standard Renault bolts but they are a little too short for the coilovers with slotted washers.
I've got some longer bolts coming in the post but I'm not sure if they'll reach me in time before my GEO setup :(
If I was to take one out at a time...
Maybe I'm using the wrong materials.
They provide a sponge for application which seems fine. And some small cloths, almost like sunglasses cloths. But I found these to be rubbish and they just stick to the area causing you to lose grip.
It's not curing cloudy, but if touched, it goes bitty...
I started doing mine outside, but after a few minutes in the sun realised it wasn't good. So wiped it all off with white spirit and left it.
Then later on in the evening I thought I'd try again, only this time did it inside.
I applied it to the entire front face of the wheel then the entire...
How do you apply this DLUX stuff? I know there's instructions on the box but how do you do it?
I cleaned the wheels down (they were clean anyway as just powdercoated).
Dripped the product on the the application sponge. Wiped it over the entire wheel. But it left a slightly tacky finish...
I fitted mine ages ago without a torque wrench without any problems. Put loctite on them and as Sonny said, just do it by feel. They screw in with an allen key too so you'll get a good feel for it.
Cheers chaps.
Will look to take off the slotted spacers for the bottom strutt anyway, which will make that bolt sit better in the nyloc.
For the tops, I think i'll just locktite it up. Mark it with torque slip and keep an eye on it.
I'll swap them around anyway, just because I'm OCD!
And...
Just flicking through some pics Phase1sr
I notice Jame's shock bolt barely touches the nyloc here too. Also his nut is a lot thinner that mine, probably non standard Renault.
