I use Comma Motorsport fully synthetic 5w50. £26 for 5 litres.
I am considering going to 10w60 just to be safe on track although the 5w50 with an oil cooler shouldn't be a problem.
Had a nightmare with the battery. Anyway that's sorted now and the new gel one is fitted under the seat. Managed to get to Buckley Tyres and now the camber is -3.5°, caster is 3.25° and toe in of 20'.
Ready to go for Anglesey now!
I took 5kg out, that was all the passenger side, drivers side and the boot. There is more in the doors, behind the rear door cards, on the bulkhead and on the roof. I'd hazard a guess and say 10-12kg in total.
I only did mine as I had the seats out getting the buckets in for Anglesey on...
I stripped the tar pads from mine this weekend too! You had less around the centre console than mine which is strange. I suppose it depends on which Frenchman is doing it.
It's a small one under the passenger seat Chi. Being an AGM one it doesn't like lots of recharging so I've already ordered the same one but a gel version.
Yes I am, although the battery is funked, it won't hold any charge :( I won't get the new one until tomorrow but it's booked in for geo setup and I was supposed to be seeing Chris @ EFI for a tweak on the map too.
I'm hoping it turns up in time, I might still be able to make it for the geo but...
Chi It's not turbo quick bit the noise is good :)
Did some free weight saving today taking the tar pads off the floor, I didn't do any others on the roof, bulkhead etc.they'll get done another day.
I've added up 15kg I've saved in total (5 from the tar pads) since the last trackday so it...
I like the green they do on the US version. https://www.autoblog.com/2013/10/15/2014-ford-fiesta-st-review-quick-spin/
Its a shame we can't get the 5 door here too. I'm a 3 door fan but if it was 5 we'd be able to get one to replace the wife's car.
Diff is worth it, absolutely love mine, best mod for the Clio I think. The ITBs are nice too, they open up the top end quite a bit more than the standard inlet.
Have you decided on cams yet? I suppose if you're keeping a standard bottom end then it'll be 421s?
I'm looking to upgrade my Koni + Cooksport combo. Its a brilliant all round setup so I'm a very wary of replacing them and then not like the ride on the road.
I could do with some height adjustment now as I've taken a lot of weight out of the front of the car so it sits quite high.
If I was...
I think the Avo are non coilover rear. Also I'm not sure if they're available with 60mm spacing, same with the BCs.
Gaz are non coilover rear.
The H&R and Bilstein lack damping adjustment.
Wouldn't touch the Spax or Ktec's rebranded price hiked Spax.
That leaves AST!
I've had Gaz before. They did the job, and did it well for the money. Not much else out there for the same money with height and damping adjustment that work well unless you can get a cheap set of FK Konigsports or similar.
My only qualm with the Gaz was the corrosion protection may as well...
Cheers guys, well my wife had got me a voucher for Javelin so I used it to book Anglesey on the 16th.
It'll be nice to get out on track again, just over a week to go! :race:
I'd just get it on some decent suspension to start with, renew any bushes and steering bits. Then see about ITBs if you want an extra 25bhp or so. I'd expect you to make around 210bhp with the current spec and ITBs
Subframe needs attention ;)
Once you get the head back and bolt all the bits on it'll just need a remap won't it and then it should be ready for summer?
