I had a rear bearing fitted before the car was purchased, was £65 iirc on the receipt I got.. Yeah I live just down the road, infact I pass through Sidcup/Orpington a lot haha.. You know my mate Rob though? TheEVilGiraffe?
Yeah the rear is less hassle as the bearing is fitted to the disc, then...
Have another quick question to anyone who has maybe an idea..
What would I expect to pay for supply and fitting of a front wheel bearing to my Ph1 172? I've had a quote already, so just wish to compare to anyone perhaps having had one done recently?
Rears I would just replace the discs with...
Sounds very promising.. thanks for the info.. well you seen a before, so I shall have to do a after the refurb pics.. (be next month when money is plentiful again :rasp:)

Creaking is almost certainly the top strut mounts.. as mentioned common issue. the solid mounts from KTR should solve this.. as for the diving, check the damper, my rear one was shot I was experiencing knocking while at slow speeds etc, and while going around a roundabout the rear of the car...
Hey.. The previous owner of my car happily through into the deal the set of original OZ F1 15's , the car was on and is still currently riding on a set of 17 F1's..

Hehe.. Thats pretty funny.. these things happen mind.. Got jacked in London about 2 years ago, car was taken (don't mess with a guy with a knife!) found the next day, bumper totally scuffed.. picked it up had it taken for repair, 3 days later delivered back and it looked like someone had T-Cut...
When was the last time you had a service on that car?
Interim service usually only differes to a full service in the terms of filters..
Full service usually includes, new panel filter and a fuel filter IIRC.. also be looking at a spark plug change..
If the car was driven for a long time with a buggered spring it could of caused the damper to be knackered.. check for grease at the seal usual sign its been or has leaked.. although may have all gone already.. I had my 2 rears replaced about a month ago. Parts and fitting was just shy of £130...
That is one sexy mint looking flamer! What's wrong with the coilovers mate?
See you lifted your budget.. The car on PH looks pretty decent also.. (obviously pictures are not as good as seeing it)
Sure you'd want to do this yourself?
Try the Traders Section.. A few sellers doing the Matched Inlets on there!
Recommend Jam Sport, Friend of mine had his done there and his 172 SHIFTS and is better through out the revs! (Ph1 Mind :rasp:)
I couldn't really advise you tooo well, but I have heard that the EU imports are no different to the standard UK versions.
Please do not take that as gospel.. Hopefully someone else more clued up will pipe up soon!
Ph1 aint called a 'PH-Quick' for nothing ya know :rasp:
Either way there both awesome cars... may I suggest perhaps paying for the membership? £10 and you can view the for sale cars, I think there are a few knocking about.. Plus if you getting one anyways its worth it! Free key ring and all ;)
Looks tidy to me.. but like others have already mentioned... ask about the service history... Also if you do buy it, get rid of that filter.. Talk about heat soak! Ph1 air box FTW!
GL looking mate.. Sometimes it worth holding out for that little longer...
P.s.. You got your heart set on...
Hey there guys and girls, I been on the hunt for a '2.0L 16V' sticker for my engine cover for my 172 and have spotted one on eBay.. No fixed price mind.. Just wondering if there is anybody on here who can possibly make up these stickers or has done so already, and if so how much? Looking to...
Can split the RCA output and use HPF and LPF filters on the amps to get low and high freq audio (if required)..
Dink is correct with what he says also.. but make sure you check..
