I've been over in Leeds for work today, fired my car up when i was leaving and it was blowing slightly. Me thinking oh it'l last a couple of weeks yet pah i was shocked as it wasnt like it when i set off!
Just as i'd come out of some roadworks on the A1, 3rd gear off we went booted it past a...
Go in tell them and they'l sort it, they wont fuss if you approach them in the correct way.
If anything rolls out of our bodyshop that i aint happy with it goes straight back in wether it be flatting marks, runs etc sounds like its missed the final inspection
Tyre pressures, Worn tyres, different brands on each corner. I reckon the TREs worn if the rests ok as i doubt lower balljoint would cause it to pull one way
as above, I got no manual with my sportlines therefore have no idea which way they were meant to go on the car obv the writings the correct way up but do they go with the writing facing the back of the car or the front or different.
As ive done a few thousand miles on them now ive a slight...
^^ Sounds like the belts too long TBH the belts are blody tight when under tension,
FTR i fitted a new belt to mine, left orig tensioners etc as the belt was cracking but if the cambelt is getting done at the same time get the full kit, It wont last another 36k. I did a quick job on mine as...
Its on teh upload but here it is from the workshop manual, It does go around the waterpump too
Looks like you may have to source an alternate belt to run that setup one with 5 ribs??
Just tell them its the one with aircon, the belt will be the same length in them all except the non aircon ones, and the tenioner has loads of room to take any slack
Agree with that, Every car ive owned bar my 1st ive maintained them myself, To get the stamp i send it in for an oil change :o The only thing i havent yet done is a Cambelt becauswe none of my cars have needed them and i aint touching the on on the Clio the aux belt was difficult enough in the...
Is it a screeching noise as in the belt slipping?
I'd have a prod about at your belt its quite noticable if the tensioners gone as it'l be slack. Is theres PAS fluid allover the belt too? you'd be best changing it if so, Ive given my engine a good clean today so i can see exactly where the...
Yep and mine has the same PAS leak by the sounds of it, I'm trying to get it booked in for warranty but not expecting anything :( Its leaking at the union and sensor by the looks too booo
You have to be careful with that Mark because theres the Aircon pipes right under the alternator so you cant put much stress on them :boring:
Thats the way i ended up slipping my belt on because of the nackered tensioner then i had to compress the spring after the alternator was all bolted...
I would have but dont have the tools for doing it, I'm leaving that job to someone else now after the hassle i had today.
Mark i used a 3/8 sump key and 11mm spanner back to back
Well i did it but what a b*****d lol
I think the pics will speak for themselves but just incase, this is what you have to do to change the Aux belt on a 182 with aircon, You dont have to take the bumper and Slam panel off like Mike says but it makes it a whole load easier on your back
Good...
