It could be a wiring fault on the injector plugs somewhere. I'd try and find someone with a few spares or buy some spare bits to rule out a component failure. It sounds more wiring as the ecu wouldn't immobilise the car for a faulty injector
Gearboxs will all fit, it's just the speedo might not work. Speed feed location, ie. Abs sensor or gearbox sensor, will need adjusting via clip to get the speedo to work. Saying that, I'm not sure if the wiring is there for the box sensor though on the 1*2 models which use abs sensors. Renault...

did it empty itself of oil completely? Sump looks bone dry?
Horse shoe alone isn't enough to lock the cams. Even the Renault one is weak as! It's more a timing tool rather than a locking tool surely? Pulley tool is a must

I've driven both the 197 and 200 cups. Engine feels a bit gutless, but when chasing one in the 182 there isn't really anything in it. The 197/200's are much more planted on track and easier to drive fast imo, but I wouldn't swap...
No need to spit the dummy mate. Diff isn't electric. If the 200 has a similar EBD/TC system to the 1*2 then braking can adjust stability, but that's about it. To be honest, on track I find it a hinderance and turn it off.
