    Back seat

The lower part is made up from two parts, both have these leg like metal parts on the front edge. You need to put the seat into a 'tipped' position and then it will slide back into the slots in the rear seat footwell. Sometimes the carpet in the footwell can ride up blocking the slots, so give...

Another cambelt thread... from a nooby

    1) Based on age both belts are due, irrespective of mileage. 2) Both cam & aux fitted with a full aux kit (pulleys & tensioners) will be around £490.00 from a independent specialist, a lot more from Renault. 3) Consider the trip down to Rentech in Portsmouth who have a spotless reputation, or...

    Wheel Spacers

There are two types of hubcentric spacers, both provide a lip for the wheel to sit on (unlike nonhubcentric spacers which are only flat.) The first type use extended bolts through the wheel, spacer and then into the hub The second type bolt onto the hub, and the the wheel bolts onto the...

    lambdas removal

Just a note but I have seen crushed & split CATs where people have used this technique to remove the sensor in a monster of a vice. A better technique is to source a piece of scaffolding pole and drill holes to attach the cat too it at a right angle. You can then place it on the floor with a...

    K-tec decat fitting kit?

Are you refferring to the Manifold to cat gasket & fixings kit? Usually a good idea as dependent on the age of the fittings under the car they will be f*cked by now, and won't enjoy being undone then cranked tight again!

    The Clamborghini 1400

Right going to wade in here with a few honest observations. Firstly the car looks awful. Secondly your over-estimation of your cars ability is incredible. Thirdly I wish CS as a community would not give you the attention you seem to crave.

    Apple Customer Support

I use a lot of apple gear day to day and whenever I have had an issue with them I have found their after sales support to be second to none. The booking system they use for the repair desk is very good IF you book in and use it properly, you are seen promptly and the staff are always really...

aux belt and engine noise problem

Warranty wise you will need to discuss that with the place you bought it from, I don't know how car sales work based on incomplete service history - probably something you should have looked into before you bought it if I'm honest as the belts on these cars are not the cheapest service to get...

aux belt and engine noise problem

Both belts are well overdue. Get it done ASAP and please don't drive it, if the belt(s) go you can be looking at big £age to get it sorted.

aux belt and engine noise problem

    Burpspeed - From The beginning

Nice work Jay, love reading your updates. My adjuster: had signs of being molested in a previous life and the threads had that worn look as if it has been forced without cleaning first :dead: On another note Dan you pull the 'homeless' look off very well :rasp:

cost of cambelt change for 172cup without aircon, roughly?

As stated the gates gear is the renault gear except without the expensive Renault logos on them! We can do the work for £290.00: on par with the other specialists such as Rentech.

Tell them euros with a bit of sellotape (has to be the original stuff, not the cheap crap) stuck onto the rim do a good job IIRC

    Oil Leak (Pics Inside)

As above: If you still had the padded foam on the undertray you would see the indent in it where the selector fork moves right next to the oil patch. Its not a problem, they virtually all do it, however every 6 months it may be worth topping the box fluid level up to the correct level again.

    Quite tidy IMO

Shame really, it was once a upon a time a 1.4 16v which for a over a decade old is still not a bad looking little car and nippy too, I had one once and it will always have a special place in my heart :o
