I would always be inclined to associate this with faster pickup/throttle response (whatever you want to call it) as gains or no gains the engine requires less effort to rotate the aux assembly setup with less pulleys present, even if they are not a massive drag.
Worth every penny though. You have to ask yourself which you would rather; a set of lowering springs, or a fixed damping, height adjustable entry-level coilover kit for £200.00 more, I know which I would choose....
The 172 discs have a bearing pressed into them, the discs can be had from GSF etc without the bearing pressed in them IIRC for a little cheaper, but it's really worth buying the OEM units from your local dealership as they have come down in price to just over £100 for a pair, cracking price...
chased an instructor driven Twingo around brands hatch in my Clio, straight line I could catch and pass with relative ease, very very planted in the bends though, especially for a standard car, thing was constantly tripod-ing! Looked like great fun tbh!
You can sometimes get marginally better results via a rolling road map, however as I do not deal with them at all I can't tell you the other advantages. Whether a RR live map is worth x4 of the price on a lightly modified road car is probably debatable. For heavier tuning starting @ Cams it is...
There called bolt extractors, they are a reverse threaded screw like tool that winds into the pre drilled hole in the stuck bolt, and then when tight enough will unwind the stuck bolt.
Cable to the release mechanism sounds like it has snapped fella. There was a thread on here where someone had found a way to open it without damaging the front grill etc. Try the search function.
I think they are an excellent option, good in the wet when they have plenty of tread, like soap in the shower when they are running low.
