Why is a Makita the one to go for? I own both and the Chicago is my main machine, it's MUCH lighter and just as good.
The best machine is the Festool which Matt has just started selling at around £350.
Today's detail was a rather lovely dark blue Mk5 VW Golf R32 in 3 door version. The car itself was in decent condition, but was quite heavily swirled from the previous owner and COVERED in LUMPS of tar (which I spent nearly an hour removing!)

Depends on the paint tbh mate, and it won't work miracles, just removes light/medium swirling.
Any polishing/light cut pad is fine on all but the softest of paints.
It did nothing to an Evo 8 I did recently... same with a lot of RenaultSport colours.
Kev if it's not Blitz and Onyx then nobody on here is interested mate.
I agree the standard Dodo's are nowt special too.
I'm a Vintage ho now anyway so I don't care :)

Racing Blue is a ho - I tried Lora's 182 and that was a struggle with a Rotary so I can imagine JD having problems.
